"Kevin and his father did a fabulous job! We needed to have our trees trimmed, weeds removed, and hedge cut/removed. They both worked efficiently, completing each task required, were courteous and professional. Very easy to talk to and very pleasant to work with. Additionally, they cleaned up the area spotlessly and hauled away all the debris. We would definitely use them again."

"We had just purchased a house in Williams Bay and the landscaping left much to be desired. We needed especially to do something with the side, which was just a muddy slope with little landscaping. The front was passable, but not inspiring. Our designer presented us with a design that built a stone wall on the slope side, with a new sidewalk and astilbe garden running along the walk. He also suggested relocating the front walk away from the front of the house in a curve toward the driveway, allowing a small boxwood garden in front of the house and a more attractive presentation. As a separator from the house next door, he suggested a line of plants (hostas and geraniums), favoring plants that prefer shade and are deer resistant (since the location has both of those issues). He kept as much of what we had as fit the design and we added a number of features that made the presentation much more attractive. All in all a great job. <br />"

"The first thing I noticed was some loose blocks and tire scuffs on the decorative blocks on the side of my house, from the driver of the heavy equipment not caring how he was driving. Then I noticed my quick release hose splitter(approx. $15) disconnected from my hose reel laying next to one of the forms(ready to go in someones pocket!). I told Jaime and he knew exactly what I was talking about. The pour went fine. But he told me there were too many roots to save me any dirt. Not a problem I thought, I could take care of that myself. What he didn't tell me is that he wouldn't have any dirt to finish around my patio. When they finished the pour, he said I could pay him then or wait until his guys returned tomorrow to finish everything and give it to them. I gave him the check. BIG mistake!!! The job was left like a new construction project. No dirt around my patio, smashed land from the heavy equipment, and my fence looked like they had their eyes closed when it was put back up. It took 2 weeks to finally get it all fixed(they were really busy he said. Of course, he already had his money!!!) Then, there were some roots sticking up through the ground. Instead of pulling them or just cutting a little below the surface, they dumped dirt on top and left it as finished. Guess what? They popped back through the dirt. I joined Angies list specifically to research concrete contractors for this job. There was nothing but praise for Lands Crete. How well they did and such. I can't believe I am the first to have problems like this. Unless others didn't use Angies list or there were paid reviews. He does do nice work at a fair price, but somebody needs to be there to make sure his workers are careful and honest(you shouldn't need to do this, but this is my experience)."

"We asked Bob to build a 24'x14' deck and reuse the original footings of a deck we had torn off the previous year. He did a terrific job of creating a flat deck while managing our sloping yard. He added access stairs on both sides of the deck which makes navigating the yard so much easier. Bob said he was an experienced landscaper so we asked him about trimming our overgrown trees and improving access in the yard with a rock border. He designed it and laid in tons of rock by himself. We ended up with a very low maintenance yard as the rock rings the trees and makes mowing so much easier. We and our neighbors are loving the improvement the deck and rock border have brought to our yard. We will definitely call Bob again!"

"Fivestone Foundations crew completed the inside portion of the job in a single afternoon, but the outside portion was more complex than initially thought. The crew leader, Tracy, communicated his findings well and offered solution to complete the planned repair. This required several visits because of torrential rain during the repair. <br /> The job is complete now, but we are still waiting for next rain to judge success <br />"

"As always they arrived on time and did what they had to do. All the plantings look great and all they left behind are footprints. I have used Landmark before and would use them again without a second thought. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Gardner, IL

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
