"We had leaks in the main water line to the house. Rick and his crew responded immediately and dug a 140 foot trench to the house, replaced the water line and made other modifications so we have water for the yard. He gave us an estimate for time and materials instead of fixed price and stayed within the estimate. I highly recommend Rick and his crew."

"The plumber identified the problem with the toilet quickly and replaced the wax seal. That work was performed fine. We also had a problem with a smelly sink but we were disappointed that he didn't investigate it thoroughly. He looked at it briefly and found something with the dishwasher filter (which according to the dishwasher's manufacturer is normal) but didn't investigate it further and the smell is still there. When we looked online about what to do about a smelly sink one of the suggestions was to call a plumber, so we did, but that didn't work. The biggest reason for the lower rating is that when he presented the invoice there was an added trip charge of $97. When I called to setup the appointment they said there was an hourly fee plus a charge for materials but nobody mentioned a trip charge. A $97 trip charge is a lot of money. Had I known that I would have called someone else."

"Millennium Plumbing succeeded were 4 other companies miserably failed! I tried for 2 weeks to have someone to come over my house and fix the water heater and 4 other companies promised things that in the end they couldn't deliver. 2 weeks without hot water and snow outside. It took one phone call and in a 6 hours time frame Millennium Plumbing showed up and took care of the problem in an amazing professional and kind way. It is a 5 Stars company. The Only one I'll ever use from now on!"

"Frank did a very professional job at a very good price. His original estimate was $400 - $500, but because the total job was completed quicker and easier, he only charged me $321.50. I am very pleased with his workmanship and professionalism. I will definitely use Clearview Plumbing again and recommend Frank to anyone that needs plumbing work. P.S. I got a second estimate just to keep Frank honest and that estimate for the same work was $608.00. <br />"

"Shane was able to address the plumbing issues associated with a 30 year old system remodel. He also negotiated a savings on the scheduled repair plus he fixed an additional leak that he discovered. I only gave a good rating on price because I am not familiar with the going rate for plumbing services since my husband is so handy. Communication was excellent from the point of request to completion."

"Lamont was FANTASTIC! I had a slow leak from my water heater. Called another company first, guy didn't show up, didn't call me back, finally got him to come out a week later and immediately said it'd be $650. I got rid of him, googled the price of expansion tanks ($40-$200) called Lamont and he was so nice. Since it wasn't an emergency, I texted him pictures and we set a time and he showed up when he said he would. Told us what was going on, was about $140 to fix, and really was very nice and reassuring to deal with. I would recommend him to anyone and we will definitely be using him in the future."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Gardnerville, NV

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
