"Our experience with the Smoky Mountain Deck Builders has left us with an awesome finished product and many compliments from our family and friends. We met with Nick and told him our ideas. He took notes and then added some great suggestions. We wanted a fire pit in the middle and he worked with us on that. The Trex boards were put in at diagonals to the frame and borders. He helped us match the inlaid tiles under the fire pit area to an adjacent patio. Our old deck was 2 steps down from the patio. Nick and his crew were able to design a totally new deck that was raised up so that it was at the same level as the adjacent patio and even increased the total deck size. We had an iron railing that needed to be matched to make this all work so they had someone fabricate the new pieces. They even had someone design and build a door and a box under the Trex boards by our water faucet to hide our small hose. Everything came out like a perfect puzzle with every element matching and looking top notch!!!"

"Great experience. Called, and they had an estimator in area who was at my home within 30 minutes. Provided me the estimate for the specific repair I called about plus repair of another portion of fence damaged when a tree fell last year AND cleaned gutters and installed a gutter guard. The estimate was made on Thursday, and I was told they would be able to perform the work on Saturday. Friday I received a text that they finished a job early and would have the work done by the time I got home from work. They were professional, fast, friendly and followed through on their promise. "The experience was mixed.  The first half of my job went really well.  I got exactly what I wanted and it was well done.  The second half of my job in the back that was done the second year, I had a couple of problems with that and I haven't been able to get them to come back.  It is supposedly guaranteed work; but they set 4 lime stone stairs for me and didn't put the proper base.  The rain has washed it out from underneath.  I can put an arm underneath the stairs like up to my shoulders.  I have called them so many times and they always say that they will come out to look at it; but it just doesn't happen.  I am really pleased with what's here, but a couple of things need to be addressed.  I know they are at the height of their work season and all that.  When they were here, they were nice guys and worked hard.  Their work is good.  I think they just made a mistake in this one place and another place just needs addressing, that's all.  The portion of the work was good.  I am trying to get them to resolve all this.  I have used them twice.  I like them enough to call them back.  I like the young man and I don't think he is fundamentally dishonest.  He is not taking care of the business like he needs to.  It is like 95% being happy and 5% of the things that needed to be done."
