"Bob's Handyman is the best. Bob goes beyond what is asked of him. I wasn't sure as to what I wanted to do with my porch, and he gave me several ideas, with no pressure. His workmanship and ethics are top notch. His crew is also great. They are respectful and knowledgeable. I will hire him in the future and recommend him to anyone that needs a handyman. I now have a lovely sunroom. Thanks Bob."

"It was a rainy Monday, but the company arrived at our home at 8am and waited out the weather.  They walked around the house with my husband and me to note any landscaping that was particularly fragile. (roses, hostas, mums and lilies).  The supplies had already been delivered so the crew got to work.   I didn't know what to expect with noise and mess and although there was plenty of both, the crew was very professional and efficient in their  efforts.    It took about 10 hours from start to finish and with only one rotten board to be replaced.   This was the first roof replacement I have experienced and this company did it right!  The owner was on sight numerous times to ensure everything was going well.  He answered my countless questions and explained what would happen from beginning to end.   I was quite concerned that the crew would never be able to pick up the zillions of roofing pieces, nails, shingles, etc.  However, there was not a scrap of material or nail in sight after they were finished.  They even cleaned out the gutters and the garage!  I would highly recommend Seamless Restoration for a new roof or repair.  They are professional, courteous, efficient and neat.  Extra stars to the employees for stopping to meet our dog who had to inspect everything, snoop in their lunchboxes and insist on being petted. <br />"

"<p>Did all the work quickly and effectively.  Had to come back a second day to finish the waterproofing of the chimney.  I have used this contractor for chimney cleaning, wood stove installation and repairs.  He gets in and gets it done quickly and for a reasonable price.  Sometimes slow on communication re: date of work to be done but does get back to you even if a bit slow.  I plan to and will use him again for chimney cleaning and repair work.</p> <br />"

"We’ve had a work crew from Before and After Remodeling at our home for the last month. They’re <br /> re-siding and painting our house in addition to replacing a dozen windows, which is a particular challenge since we have <br /> a 42-foot-tall birdwatching tower attached. We had entertained a bid from a <br /> local painting contractor that stopped our hearts—and that was just for <br /> painting the high section of the tower. He made a big deal about the height, <br /> said he’d have to bring in a cherry picker, and gave us a go-away price. Donny <br /> and Jessica Beaumier looked at our tower, welcomed the challenge, and gave us a <br /> much more reasonable estimate, so we gladly engaged them. We were so used to being <br /> put off for months on end that we were very pleased when Jessica’s estimates <br /> came in within a few days of our meetings. And to our delight, they started <br /> work within a couple of weeks of signing our agreement. This is how it should <br /> work, but (in our experience) rarely does with oversubscribed contractors. <br /> In the course of work, the crew discovered a number of <br /> things that needed attention. The back steps on our raised deck, torn off to <br /> accommodate scaffolding, had to be completely rebuilt. Our front porch had <br /> rotted and needed to be completely replaced with permanent plastic decking. A <br /> gutter and downspout that were directed toward a low corner of our house, <br /> giving us a wet basement, would be torn out, and the gutter re-routed and <br /> ditched where it wouldn’t leak. A heavy copper awning mounted over our front <br /> door by another contractor 14 years earlier was discovered never to have been <br /> properly secured. It was dangling dangerously from three bolts instead of the <br /> twelve it needed! Each new challenge was met head-on by Donny and foreman Craig, <br /> who arrived at sane and sensible solutions for problems that had vexed us for <br /> over a decade. <br /> Every large project has its setbacks, and an inattentive <br /> employee at Lowe’s ordered the wrong windows (double-paned when we’d ordered <br /> single-paned). Lowe’s told us one date for delivery of replacement windows, <br /> then reneged, drawing the process out for several weeks. Through it all, Donny <br /> was both apologetic and forthcoming, passing along information as he received <br /> it. He was more frustrated than we with the delays, as they affected the work <br /> flow. Ideally, windows go in before siding and trim go on, but all that had to <br /> be reversed, and everyone had to roll with the punch. <br /> Before and After’s crew is made up of truly nice guys, who are respectful, quiet and considerate. <br /> They’re kind to us, our kids, and our dog. They call me when they find a large <br /> spider or snake that needs to be relocated or just admired. They did their best <br /> not to obliterate my perennial gardens, though that’s tough when you’re placing <br /> scaffolding. I enjoy their company and will miss them when they’re gone. They’re careful, but they’re also fast <br /> workers. I took progress photos each morning, and was amazed at what they got <br /> done each day. In addition to the much-needed repairs they made, our house now <br /> looks absolutely stupendous with new Hardie board permanent siding, painted <br /> barn red, with creamy yellow trim. It looks important; it looks brand new; it <br /> makes our hearts sing as it stands out in the autumn landscape. We would not <br /> hesitate to engage and recommend Before and After for any job, large or small. They <br /> look out for their customers, fix what needs to be fixed, and get it done in a timely way. If and when we can <br /> save enough, our dream is to send them through the house interior, starting <br /> with our outdated bathrooms. For now, we’ll enjoy the grand and glorious <br /> updated exterior, and just not let anybody come inside. <br />"

"They did a wonderful job. I'm thinking of getting them back this year again to power scrub the windows, porches and all that stuff. With what they did, I have a huge debt. The price was worth every dime of it. They brought five people and with those five people, they were still here for four to five hours. They did some of the gutters by hand to make sure that they get everything out of there. I cannot say enough good about them. I think the price is reasonable. He even fixed one of my screen doors that was broken for me. You don't find people like that."

"I hired Alltek to install a drainage system in my crawlspace. This company was very helpful and the quality of the work was awesome. The salesman came to my house, explained everything in detail and the estimate was FREE! I had gotten estimates from other companies and Alltek was by far the cheapest but the quality of the work was shocking. They were able to start my job within weeks of the estimate and when the workers showed up they were prompt and very friendly. They put a drainage system in with a sump pump and fully encapsulated the space. I would highly recommend Alltek for any of your basement or crawlspace needs. While they were here I also learned they do roofs and other misc jobs. I will be calling them for my roof replacement next. Great company and employees"

"John was absolutely wonderful. He does not ask for a down payment or any money up front. He only asks for payment once work has been completed and the customer is satisfied. The crew was extremely friendly and really went above and beyond. They were very thorough and even added some screening to a place where they found bats when they were power washing. This was not their job and they offered to do it no problem as we had some screening. They also did some additional caulking as they said they did not like the look of it!! Just outstanding service they provide as they truly care about their customers. They are very honest, upfront about everything and completely trustworthy. Everything looks wonderful our garage doors look brand new. I give them an A+++!!!! I would highly recommend them."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Gay, WV

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
