"We hired this company. I don't mind paying but when they missed so many areas. It's very frustrating and I have to finish the job myself. Anthony promised a great job and so didn't Nicole. I sure didn't even get a good job. The hand railings are super rough, and where the pressure washer chewed up the wood it was never fixed. It was definitely a hack job. I was promised over the phone a walk through at the end. It never happened. Couldn't communicate with the workers. I couldn't understand them. Definitely the pictures that they posted on other jobs don't match what I paid for. A very disappointing experience with this company. I would shop around.. plus I included Anthony in the last few emails and he couldn't even respond back. Awful !!! The handrails was addressed in after the power washing. The owner needs to go back and see the truth. I have the email saved!!!! Give me your email and I would be gladly to send it you!! You shouldn't be sparky when your team hacked my deck. I will be re-doing myself. Such a joke of a company."

"Based on the overwhelming good reviews I hired New England painting back in June 2020 Anthony said that he wouldn’t be able to paint until September, I said ok I can wait until then. September came didn’t hear from him. Texted him and he said “You are on the schedule. I don't know if it will happen this month but when we reach your position in the queue I will definitely contact Thank you”. April came didn’t hear from him texted him and he said. “You are close to the top of the list. With good weather I expect to be on your house within the next 30 to 45 days”. May 21st called to ask for the color of the paint which was California brand as stated in the contract. Then he calls me and said that it was too much trouble to get California paint as most stores didn’t carry enough for what was needed and asked me if he could use Sherwin Williams instead. I said ok as it was 3 days prior to start and after waiting a year I didn’t want anymore delays. Then they painted my doors which they didn’t come out right because of the color red. I told him that they would need a primer but he said no. So after his painters put on 3-4 coats were still lousy I told him so and he said another coat would fixed it. However as of today he never came back to fix them. After he saw the review Tony called me. He was not very pleasant and said he had forgot about the doors and he was going to refund me $100. For them."

"He never called and never showed up. I called him , it went to voice mail. He supposed to be here at 1 o'clock. I called him at 1:20 ,no answer. At 1:30, I called again and when I said I would put a very negative review he called saying that he has a flat tire and that he has limited service that's why he couldn't call. I am upset , extremely upset because I wasted my whole day waiting for him. There is something called common courtesy , If you are not coming , if you are going to be late then you call and you explain . You don't wait until somebody threaten to give you a negative review on Angi and then you get nervous. I wouldn't even give him a star . How do you expect him to run in business if he doesn't know how to return calls and this is confirmed twice , he called me twice and said that he was coming. This is extremely unprofessional."

I am a self employed General Contractor with subs who work under me, but also with me. I work on every job and I handle all my affairs. I always work under contract and with estimates. By the hour is exactly that, by the hour! I specialize in all phases of construction. I have been in construction for over 30 years and I am fully insured and registered with the State of NH. I am lead certified and I have a mold remediation company that does all my mold work. I do not charge for travel, as that is something you have to do to get to work. I work every job differently on the billing procedures, as not every job is the same. I work with customers on all phases such as design, paint schemes, window layout, lighting, doors, and general footprints for small additions and garages. I do all my own dirt work straight through to the finish work. And most importantly, when you call my phone, I answer it, day or night!

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Gilmanton, NH

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
