"Mike Sheehan came to give me an estimate for windows on March 25th. He offered the Harvey Tribune windows. He was on time, professional and very detailed. He also spoke to me about insulation as I had a lot of air leaks in my town home. Based on my interaction with him, I pretty much decided that I wanted to use his services. I asked him to send me an estimate as I wanted to get my windows done right away (I had 6 windows and a patio door to replace). He said he would send the quote by the next day, which he did not. I sent him an e-mail about a week later on March 31, and he responded on April 13, apologizing, but that he had a death in the family. He also included the quote, which was incorrect. I requested a correction, which he did and sent the next day, April 14. By then, I had contacted another company, who came and gave me an estimate. I gave Mike the benefit of the doubt and decided to write to him again and asked if they offered a different type of window than what he offered. I also reread the second quote he sent and still noticed an error on my patio door quote. I heard back from him on April 27 (he said my mail went into junk folder), he said he would rework the quote for the different windows; but by then, I went with the other company, whom I rated an A+. I thought about using him for the insulation job, but I decided against it for fear he would leave me in limbo. I could have had my windows installed earlier by the other company had I not waited on him."

"Myself and my father has used MJA Contracting for two roofs in our houses in Jersey City. Both times Manuel and his team has taken good care of us and installed good roofs. At first I thought the price was a bit high but after I saw the amount of time, material, and workmanship that they completed I thought the price was very fair. Roofs are alot of work as I learned. What I especially liked about Manuel is he did not go cheap and install a torch down rubber roof. He installed a rubber EPDM roof instead. If you have a flat roof, do yourself a favor and install a rubber EPDM membrane and make sure to contact Manuel. He also rebuilt our chimneys very good as well. Excellent masons! "We've worked with Monk's previously, several years ago, for a whole-house exterior house painting job. We knew we wanted to work with them again, for a needed front porch repair. Kurt Becker visited, discussed the job with me, and was able to email me an detailed estimate right away. He was willing to price out a few variations on the project, which was helpful. After we decided on the project details, the crew were able to begin the following week, and wrap it all up within a few days. We had porch corner posts replaced, some of the flooring and ceiling boards replaced, and a new railing built and installed. We also asked them to replace the exterior trim on 2 second story windows. They repainted the new porch wood and front steps, to match the house colors. It's always great to work with the Monk's crews. They are professional, capable and clean everything up at the end of each work day. There is always a crew manager, in this case, Huibel, who is on site to discuss daily progress, and answer questions. It's been a pleasure to have them work here. I recommend them."

"They start this Monday installing an entire wall on the north west side of my 2 story home, also the north wall had asbestos shingles about ten of them had to be removed to put a new window in with cement replacements that match the asbestos. They were very quick coming to my home to look over damage from fire in October 2024, they were very professional and honest good guys I am very happy with all that they are doing to help put my home back together. I am 72 years old I use to do this kinda of work and I can tell who's ok or a dud these guys have it together on the ball I feel like I have a lot of weight off my shoulders .I'm not able to handle doing this kinda work anymore because of my age. "The installation process went as planned. After the insulation, I expected a follow up to see how things went. After all, that's what happened after they did my window installation. No follow up took place. I gave it a few weeks to see if they would call or come by to see. After waiting I placed a call to address my concerns. The roof installation went fine, but they left debris on the brand new windows they installed along with splashing some black substance on my siding. I guess they expected the rain to wash it all away. They also left large piece of wood in my drive way and nails in my driveway and around my house. I was assured that someone would call me back since the members of the team handling my account was in a meeting. It is now been a week and no call back. That must be a heck of a meeting."
