"I appreciated the quick service I got from Roto Rooter, a couple other listed plumbers couldn't get to me for a week or so. Chris came out the same day, replaced my defunct garbage disposal, and removed a leaky whole house filter. He was efficient and very professional. I was a bit taken aback by the price, but then again, haven't had any plumbing done in a long time, so figured it's probably standard! I would hire them again definitely. Sure did not want to wait a week with a non-functional sink."

"After they came out to repair a sewage drain the owner followed up with the work of his employees. After his site visit, he came back to make the hole in the wall look better! If he hadn't I probably would not of fixed it until I put the house for sale. They also looked at all the plumbing in my basement and pointed out the corrosion on the water line going into my house & said to keep an eye on it. Well it started leaking months later and it was so nice to have a plumber to come out and not worry if they would do a good job! Note: Having an IDPH licensed plumber was important to me, and they are licensed."

"<strong>Why We Choose Ed</strong> <br /> We had been looking for a plumber for around a month when we found Ed. We had several plumbing projects but one in particular that was bothersome. We?ve had a toilet flange that has been problematic for years. It was not flush to the floor causing our toilet to rock, which eventually caused the flange to break. Recently we tried to install a new toilet using the broken flange and decided we needed to have it fixed. <br /> Many of the plumbers we called immediately said that we would probably have to chip up the concrete in our basement floor to <br /> countersink the flange. This was worrisome to us as we had concerns about what future damage that might cause to our concrete subfloor. Also, we had concerns that if we wanted to install tile later on that the flange might end up too low below the floor to be effective. <br /> Ed?s response to our concerns was very practical and reassuring. He let us know that he couldn?t effectively evaluate the issue until he saw the toilet and that to truly know what flange solution would be appropriate he would have to remove the old flange. <br /> <strong>Ed?s Solution</strong> <br /> Needless to say we had Ed out and he was great. He removed the old flange, determined that a normal flange would still be too tall and wouldn?t allow the toilet to sit flush to the floor. Ed ended up installing metal rings that he bolted into the concrete subfloor. (A product he has used in his own home.) These rings weren?t as tall as a normal plastic flange and the bolts he used to secure the rings to the floor were much less destructive than having to chip out concrete to counter sink the flange.  Plus, we can use the flange as is if we ever decide to install a tile floor. <br /> Thanks Ed. We?re so happy to have a working bathroom again. <br /> <strong>Pricing</strong> <br /> We got several quotes and felt Ed?s pricing was very competitive if not slightly more affordable than most. <br /> <strong>Ladies Looking for a Plumber</strong> <br /> I work from home so I am typically the one hiring and letting vendors into our home to do repairs. (As well as coordinating repairs <br /> for our rental properties.) Finding professionals that I am comfortable with is always a priority. Ed is great! He is very much the loveable grandfather everyone wishes they had. Except he?s even better because he?s a great plumber! <br /> <strong>Who Are We?</strong> <br /> My husband and I are both professionals who also manage several rental properties in our spare time. <br /> <br />"

"The LaMartina Company did a fantastic job on a complex repair situation involving 3 floors of my house.  I was so pleased with their promptness, professionalism, competence, and friendliness. From now on, they are my "go-to" plumbing company! (By the way, the LaMartina Company on Picadilly is a different company from the Tony LaMartina Company.  Don't be confused!) <br />"

"Great job......especially as it was a bit "tricky" as removal of the original shut off was very corroded as it was leaking.....and rusted due to it being old galvanized piping and connection length from the main to house was limited."

"Smooth as could be from call to completion.  For $279 (Angie's List deal) they came in and reglazed our nasty old tub to a sparkling white new finish.  It was fast, too. Our old tub had been flaking and chipping - it looks BRAND NEW.  The one note of caution that I would say is the smell is AWFUL.  Thankfully, we have an attic fan and a bathroom fan.  It took about 2-3 days before going into the bathroom didn't knock you out. :)  The installer cautioned not to use bathmats on the tub anymore, since they could suction up the coating I guess.  There are options for non-slip aids though. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Godfrey, IL

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
