I called a few chimney repair companies and in the end decided to go with Holy Smokes Chimney Service. I found the owner, Waylon, an honest and forthright person who seemed to really care about my situation. He came to my home and gave me a quote the day I called him, and then proceeded to tell me he was going to put a tarp over my chimney with no pressure to use his services while I investigated other companies. I was impressed with that and his overall knowledge and experience. Waylon was back with his assistant within two weeks to clean and waterproof the bricks, seal the crown, and install a new chimney cap. They also blew the leaves off the roof, walks, and driveway. "The guys were early and very professional - they explained what they were going to do, inspected my chimneys and made recommendations on the waterproofing and repair and installing the flue caps, which they didn't push on me but I decided to go ahead and have done while they were here. There was no mess and they were very efficient, and all the work was done in less than two hours.  They took pictures of my chimney to show me the things they were recommending, and showed me the after pictures so I didn't need to climb on my own roof. <br />"

"Hail damage occurred in March of this year and I contacted Braswell Construction as well as 2 other local roofing companies. Chris Gaugler contacted me asap and came out to the house. The other two roofing companies I never heard back. Braswell Construction contacted my insurance company and worked out all the details. "Tracy and his crew installed three new roofs for me. They are not the cheapest nor are the most expensive. He found an issue while estimating one of the roofs that none of the other estimators found. Mainly because of his knowledge and because he actually got up on the roof. Most of the estimators did a quick visual from the ground and used satellite images from a web app. I would definitely higher him again."

"I called for an inspection and a chimney sweep, and got an estimate from a professional young lady. She, in fact, closed the deal for me on this company as I had called several others in the area and had gotten just so-so service. The actual service man arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Upon inspecting the chimney, he said we didn't need that cleaned at all--kind of refreshing since I wouldn't have known myself if the chimney was "needy" or not. He then noted that we did not have a cap, and gave us a very good price for installing one on the spot. He also included the inspection in the cost. He was clear to say that it was unlikely we would have the leak again, which happened at the very height of a lengthy driving rain storm. The cap, he explained, would take that one element out of it since the rain was coming straight down the chimney and leaking through the brick and mortar. He completed the work in about an hour and was quite professional and nice. We hope never to need them again, but we will certainly recommend them to our friends and neighbors."
