"They told me they would come out and take care of it. They came out a few days later and repaired that corner! Not only did they take care of that one spot, they looked over the whole roof to make sure all was good. Just a handshake. No charge. A+. Highly recommended!"

"To anyone who is considering working with ?Charleston Roofing & Exteriors?; <br /> <br />                 I am the president of an HOA in Mt Pleasant.  We are a small community with only 1 very old building (14 individual <br /> condo?s and 1 townhouse) which was built way back in the 1970?s.   Our building has five different roof sections; divided by four ?fire-walls? of cement cinder-blocks which has concrete poured over them for ?cosmetic appearance?.  <br /> <br />                 After years of doing patchwork on our old roof the HOA finally decided it was time to stop the bleeding and get a brand new roof. <br />                 I myself took on this job of finding the best company for our small community. <br /> <br />                 I personally spent many hours researching different roofing companies in the Charleston area.  I ended up calling 12 <br /> different companies (which had great reputations & reviews).    I left a voice message for ALL 12 companies (telling them I had a big potential project for them replacing a new roof for a multi-family building); I had only 6 companies call me back, I had only 4 <br /> companies that took the time to come out and inspect the property?.these 4 companies finally supplied me a quote. <br /> <br />                 I won?t get into details about cost between the 4 companies?all four companies were almost in the same ball-park of each other.   Mike and his team stood out because of what they were offering and the impression I got from him.   <br /> <br />            The other roofing contractors gave me the impression that they would only be doing ?patch-work? but on a larger scale.   They only wanted to quote and replace SOME damaged sheathing on the roof and keep some of the original old ones.   If I am going to <br /> spend THOUSANDS of dollars on a new roof?.I want to make sure I have a brand NEW roof?..not a roof which is half new & half old. <br /> <br />                 Plus, the other roofing guys did not give me the warm ?fuzzies? about how to handle the flashing on our building.   Our <br /> building is unique in the fact that our fire-walls are cinderblocks with concrete poured over it.   Some of the other contractors (once again) wanted to take the ?short-cut? and just add flashing OVER the existing flashing?.again this is just more ?patch-work? in my <br /> opinion. <br /> <br />                 Mike and his team gave our community ALL new sheathing, ALL new flashing, proper drip edges, 30 year shingles AND as an added upgrade we added ADDITIONAL water protection to our roof by COMPLETELY covering the roof with a product called ?Ice-&-Water Shield? (look it up). <br /> <br />                 Mike and his team were able to tackle the ?unexpected? (which should always be expected on any large scale job)?.we had evidence of wood rot which was found out after the removal of the sheathing (the other contracting companies would have missed <br /> this).  Mike and his team fixed these issue.  <br /> <br />                 Mike and his team (2 crews with a total of ~12-15 guys per day) were able to complete the job in 72 hours.      I am now confident that we have a BRAND NEW roof (not a half new/half old roof) with has been properly installed and should protect our small community for years to come.  <br /> <br />                 Finally, every day I was on-site to oversee this project.   I got up on the roof and took over 400+ pictures of this project (so I could show any homeowner who might have questions about how the roof was constructed).   I wanted to share pics with you but it appears Angieslist does not allow this (or at least I don't see where to upload pics).   I had 17 key pictures for you which I felt would help show the progress and overview of this large project.   <br /> <br /> - Marsh Grass HOA President <br /> <br />"

"Tim was very helpful and communicated with me throughout the process. When the shingles I initially chose were not available in a timely manner, he offered options for replacement shingles that worked out well. He was courteous at all times, did the work quickly, kept me informed as the project progressed, and followed up afterwards. Highly recommend him."

FAQs for asphalt shingle roofing repair projects in Goose Creek, SC

Asphalt shingles last 15 to 30 years, although premium products can reach the 50-year mark. The actual lifespan hinges on climate, material quality, proper installation, ventilation, and consistent maintenance. Scheduling annual inspections, replacing damaged shingles promptly, and keeping gutters clear all extend service life and help your roof protect the rest of the house.

Repairing your asphalt shingles preserves the integrity of your roof by addressing minor, localized damage. In cases where damage is confined, applying roofing sealant beneath and over the affected area restores performance and prevents further issues. Maintaining these repairs upholds durability and forestalls deterioration. When damage is extensive or persistent, full roof replacement becomes necessary. A professional inspection confirms the ideal course of action.

Replacing individual shingles is a valid solution when only isolated sections of the roof are damaged. Asphalt shingles, as well as wooden shakes, slate, or clay roofing tiles, are engineered for individual replacement, which can be achieved by applying roofing sealant beneath and over the damaged section to restore functionality. When damage extends over a larger area or many shingles are compromised, complete roof replacement becomes necessary. A professional roofer will assess the situation and confirm the optimal repair method.
