"Inspection of a previously installed sump pump system (primarily the sump pump). Inspection found that it seized up and wouldn't have functioned. Replacement made - and very fortunately - since when the pump is needed, it IS needed. It wouldn't have been good to have a flooded basement or have an upcoming flooded basement."

Customers say: Quick response

"This pro arrived to the job about an hour and a half early than scheduled time and gave his honest professional opinion on what my problem was regarding a leaky toilet. He also gave me the option to totally remove it it but based on his professional opinion, the project seemed to only require replacing a leaking water supply line which was less work to replace. I appreciated having the option for repair but trusted his professional opinion. To date, the repair appears to have remedied the leak. Will continue to monitor the ceiling below for a couple of weeks to see if everything is fixed. So far so good! I will be calling him backhand would recommend for hire!"

"He's been very responsive and very service oriented. He gave me a discount for calling from Angie's List. He did a great job. We had a problem with the ice standing and other issues. He came out the same day or next day to fix it. He was very personable. He explained everything and seemed to know what he was doing. He provided cost effective options to get the job done. The price was fair and much less than other firms that I had quote it."

"I contacted Banner Water after discovering that water was not flowing in the house I just purchased. The company's contact information was listed on a sticker affixed to the old tank, so I figured I would give them a try. Customer service people were professional, friendly, and answered phones quickly. I let the customer service rep know that I really needed to get somewhere out to the house the same day. They were able to meet my request and had someone out at the house within 2 hours. The service technicians that came were courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. They replaced the old non-functioning tank with a new one and were done within 45 minutes.
A couple of weeks later I called them back out when the water wasn't pressurizing correctly. Again the company had a technician out there in the same day, despite the fact that I had called late in the afternoon. The technician was great again and had the problem fixed in about 15 minutes. I expected there to be a charge for the service call since this problem was not related to the earlier work that the company did. However, much to my surprise, the technician stated that he was told by his boss to not charge for the service.
Several months after this, I had my parents contact Banner Water for a well water issue. For about 3 years they had problems with the well pump running continuously and also had suffered from poor pressure. Over the course of the 3 years, a couple of companies came to attempt to fix the problem. Each time the companies would charge a high amount, but never really fix the problem. Then, once the issues started happening again, my parents called Banner Water. The company had a technician come out to the house quickly. The technician was friendly and ended up hand-digging the well. He worked all day in hot conditions, but never complained. The problem was finally fixed. My parents were very happy with the level of service provided."

"I called Thomas Nigro in June 2020 sometime inasmuch as I had an old well pump and pressure thank that sorely needed replacement. I needed some practical information from a professional re the installation even though I had researched this for a couple of hours. So I called Thomas Nigro, a well and plumbing company that has been around here for decades, one of the highest rated in his business. I was not sure what response to expect from him, after all he owed me nothing. However, I found Tom was more than willing to help, knowing full well that, as he graciously stated it, "I was on a budget", and was unable to pay for his services! He walked me through the process, gave me every little detail what to do, what not to do,, what to look out for... Due to the knowledge that he equipped me with, I had that installation done 2 weeks later. Besides being proud of myself, I knew that I would not have been successful in this task. I called him afterwards and thanked him for taking the time out to help, and even told me to call should I run into trouble. Certainly not a man that looks at the money before he looks at how he can be of help. I can certainly say, had I the money to pay him to do the job I did, I would have. No one that needs help with a plumbing problem, well problem etc. should doubt that Thomas Nigro & Son will do an excellent job for them! Thanks Tom, so much! below are a couple of pictures of my proud work:-)"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Granby, CT

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
