"They quickly assessed the situation, gave a reasonable quote, and were very proficient and professional. My condo unit was under contract and a water leak caused by another unit needed to be repaired asap and they did it. Also kept me well informed."

"Brian and his partner removed our cement step for us so we can install a floating deck …. I did not feel comfortable with a DIY project as the step was against the foundation of our home …. Brian quoted a fair price for the work and was out the following day to remove the step… while a small job… I appreciate his quick response to our inquiry as others did not seem interested in such a small project."

"We had two building projects - replacing a decades-old retaining wall made from railroad ties, and replacing a large deck. We asked for bids, and liked the people at Sta-Built best. They are very professional, friendly, and did top-quality work. Our old deck was originally built by an "economy" contractor (what we could afford at the time), and the foundation was "shoddy", to say the least. We are so pleased with the new deck. The foundation is solid, and the new configuration fits our needs very well. Highly recommended!"

"Dillon did great work from start to finish. I sent an email for a quote, and after a few questions he gave me one, and explained the basis. He was able to come out within a week, showed up when he said he would, and worked hard. He wasn't able to use heavy machinery for the start of the job, so he set about breaking up the 14' x 9' x 1' concrete slab by hand, back-breaking work. The next day he stacked up the concrete pieces in a dumpster we had on site, figuring out a way to keep us from having to get it emptied in between, saving me $150. After he was done with the work, Dillon pressure washed and tidied up, leaving things look better than they had when he got there. I was impressed with Dillon's adaptability, persistence, work ethics, and results. I will happily hire him again in the future, and recommend him & In Depth Excavation."

FAQs for concrete foundation installation projects in Granite Falls, WA

A concrete footer is a relatively shallow column of concrete that sits below your foundation walls. Footers spread wider than the foundation, so they can support a higher amount of weight in critical spots, such as below walls. The exact dimensions of footers depend on the home, so larger structures need a larger footing.

To calculate footing size, you need to know the minimum width and depth for houses in your region. Multiplying the width by the linear footprint of the structure will give you the size in linear feet.

To convert linear feet into square feet, you can divide the width by 12. For example, an 18-inch footer is 1.5 square feet per linear foot. Multiply this number by the total in linear feet to get the answer in square feet.

Installing a pier and beam foundation costs $5 per square foot, or $8,000 to $15,000. This style is standard in homes built before the 1960s or those in flood-prone areas.

Concrete weight support ranges from 1,500 to 6,500 pounds per square inch, and footings need at least 3,500 to 4,500 pounds per square inch. Remember that your soil type, climate, and materials used will significantly affect how much weight your footings can hold, especially in certain areas.

It costs between $1,600 and $3,200 to pour a 20-by-20-foot concrete slab. These estimates are based on an average cost to pour a concrete slab of $4 to $8 per square foot. Be sure to discuss the specifics with a pro—they’ll give you an estimate of how much you can expect.

The cost to raise a house is between $3,200 and $10,000. This range refers to a form of repair that involves lifting the entire house to potentially remove the old foundation and build a new one or add to an existing one.
