"Brian was really friendly and professional, and you could tell he was very thorough. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand during the inspection, and the report he sent after was super detailed with pictures and notes on all the systems in the home. I especially liked that he included a section that called out the main issues to focus on. Overall, we were very happy with his service and would definitely recommend him to anyone."

"I'd give them an A+ if it were available. The specialists that worked on our system were prompt, respectful of our property, very skilled and wore masks as appropriate. They came out multiple times (over three months) to get the Radon level even lower than the contract required. Our initial Radon reports were around 3 pCu/L and the eventual test of the mitigation system was 0.8 pCu/L. We were very impressed with their professionalism and would suggest them to anyone without any reservations."

"Sean was thorough and professional he put my mind at ease by pointing out things that were major issues as well as small issues. he gave me tips and lifetimes of the roof and various other things. "This was the lowest price estimate that we got but the company also seemed like the most knowledgeable. It took a few weeks to get on the schedule. The workers showed up on schedule and completed their work in one day as they said they would. They explained things to me and why things looked as they did, the fire cuffs around the pipes and things like that. Our radon went from 14 to 0.2 and has stayed at that level every time we do a test."

"I waited a month before getting a test kit I called and was told there was something wrong with the Angies list orders but that I would be receiving a kit soon. It wouldve ben nice if they called me to tell me that though. The test results were quick and on par with other radon test I had done locally."

"Jeanne is AMAZING! We hired the CDA Inspectors to inspect the house we are currently under contract with; Jeanne was thorough, very observant, so easy to work with and listened to our concerns. The report she sent was very detailed to include recommendations for the issues she uncovered. 47 pages of detailed information leaves little to the imagination so kudos to a nice in-depth look on things we needed to know. Thank you so, so much, Jeanne for alleviating my anxieties and for your most professional, superb and genuine care service!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!"

"After living in our home for a little over 4 years I finally decided to test for radon. To my surprise and horror the test came back at 30.3 pCi/L ! <br /> I contacted Premier Basement Systems and couldn't be happier with their service. Heather and Garrett were extremely responsive to my calls and emails, answering all of my questions and plainly explaining my options. They came up with a plan that was simple and minimally invasive. More importantly it is nearly invisible on the exterior. Most important of all, they reduced my radon from 30.3 pCi/L to just 1.2 pCi/L !!! <br /> My family can now breath safely in our home. <br /> <br />"

"Excellent. It's an old, remodeled house that required some accommodation of the plan, and some re-do of the radon reduction installation. NW Radon was responsive, cheerful, and very professional -- a very positive experience, after a much less pleasant and less professional performance by another radon mitigation company in the area."

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Spokane, WA

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
