"Fantastic company. This is the second time we used them and will not hesitate to use them again when the need arises. They do a top notch job with clean-up as well. If the tree wasn't missing one wouldn't know that they had been here. Thank you so much for all your hard work - AGAIN!!"

"Wonderfully! Despite the monsoon-like weather in early November 2018, FINE's crew came in and found a way to complete the job in a little more than two days. Mike and his sales team were friendly and upfront about the job, we chose the best solution for the task at hand, and top-quality materials and installation practices were used to ensure a long life for the three-board paddock fence with wire-mesh pet fencing that was installed. The installation crew was efficient and on-task, even working in the rain to get the job done. Very pleased with the process and the outcome."

"Joe Fox talked with us about our problem with drainage in the back yard, and our dissatisfaction with the present flagstone patio (it had a newer section that did not match the original). He discussed possible solutions with us, paying close attention to what we wanted. We came up with a great plan. Joe and his men rerouted a drain pipe, installed a french drain, laid a brick patio, and redid the former flagstone patio. They were very hard workers, very neat, cleaned up after themselves every day, and did fabulous and meticulous work. Plus, they were very nice guys. I especially appreciated the fact that they understood what we wanted from an artistic point of view. The work they did blended into our existing design for the back yard. We are very happy with the products used, and the attractiveness of the overall design. Joe Fox and his workers also cut our grass on a regular basis, and do a great job.

"I was very pleased with the fact that Hornbaker's Landscaping was willing to break my project into steps that were functional yet were affordable to me as a customer. I had a hard time finding a company in my area that was willing to do this for me. I am looking forward to having them back to do the next step of my landscaping project. They have also done snow removal for me in the past and always do a wonderful job. The crews are all friendly and enjoyable to be around.

Dan Lafferty is the best contractor around this entire area. He is very professional, conscientious, and a perfectionist with his work. He has a keen eye for detail and can see how the project is going to turn out before he starts it. He delivered on everything he promised and more! Dan sat down with us at the start to determine what we wanted to accomplish. He wrote up the estimate and went over it with us. He kept us informed during the projects and didn't hesitate to ask us if we had any questions or concerns throughout the entire process. He listened to us and gave us great feedback. The concrete slab at our rear garage door was the first project. He broke up and removed the old slab and hauled it away, measured and set up the forms for the new slab, and then had us take a look to make sure it was the size we wanted. He made sure to protect our new fence when he poured the slab since it went right up to the fence. When he was finished, he re-graded the dirt and planted grass seed and covered it with hay! The second project was our front sidewalk and porch and steps. He broke up and removed the old sidewalk and porch steps and hauled it away, regarded under where the steps were going to be, measured and set up the forms for the new front steps, set up the forms to recap the front porch landing, and then had us take a look to make sure the steps were the width and height we wanted. He then put down the stone and rebarb and poured the front steps and recapped the landing. He made sure to protect our siding and new front door by covering everything with heavy duty plastic. When that dried, he did exactly the same with the front sidewalk. Next came the stamped concrete work. He contracted out to Green Works for this and they did an amazing job - shout-out to Jan, who does the detail work - she is amazing! The only reason Dan did not do this himself is that he needed more forms than he had on hand for our project (we widened the steps and sidewalk dramatically). But Dan was involved in every step of this process as well. Once the stamped part was complete, sealed, and set, Dan re-graded the dirt and planted grass seed and covered it with hay. He and his worker made sure they cleaned up thoroughly, even sweeping off our driveway! We are so pleased with the finished product and have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors. We will definitely call Dan and DL Home Enhancements for all our future projects!

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Greencastle, PA

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
