"I suppose that if you call yourself "Dependable" right in your name, you have to live up to it, and Dependable David definitely lives up to it. First of all, he answers the phone and gets back to you. Sometimes, this is to tell you that he has no room in his schedule to take on your task. But at least he gets back to you to let you know. And if he does commit to doing work for you, he's there when he says he'll be there. He also does good, solid work. And he listens carefully to what you're asking him to do. If you ask him to be extra neat when painting, he'll be extra neat. If you ask him to tape everything, he'll tape everything. He bills by the hour, so this allows him to be more careful or take extra time to do something just right, if you ask him to. He doesn't need to rush, because he bills by the hour. He also doesn't farm out the work to a bunch of different guys. He shows up himself and does the work. In our case, he ended up swooping in and saving the day after our previous contractor made a royal mess of the job and had to be fired. So far, for us, he has done: --Mudding and painting a large room, including high ceilings and stair wells. --Mudding and painting an entire kitchen. --Installing natural (unpainted) Hickory baseboard molding in our entire 2-story house (including applying polyurethane to the molding before installing). This was an absolutely gigantic job (491 feet of molding), with so many cuts and corners, including some tiny detail areas where the new molding had to mate with existing woodwork (like around the staircase). --Framing, drywalling, and mudding a new hall closet. He also sourced the door for us. In this case, he only had one free day in his schedule, but he didn't over-promise, and told us that he would only have time to frame/drywall and do the first coat of mud (I would have to finish sanding, mudding, painting, installing the door, and trim myself). And he did exactly what he said he would do. All of this work has been great in terms of quality. David is also a friendly guy. He's fun to talk to. And he seems like the kinda guy you can trust in your home. But most of all... he's dependable!"

"It was very worthwhile to use this service because the decorator answered some critical questions and kept me from making costly mistakes.  It is a good place to start and the price was right for what she did.  She spent 30 minutes on the phone talking to me but before that she spent a significant amount of time looking over photos and measurements that I submitted to her by email. She put a lot of time into the consult.  This service would be great for choosing wall colors, flooring, and fabric for furniture.  I will definitely keep her contact information for future projects.

"My wife had wanted to add a front porch to our colonial style home. I had some reservations as there were some homes in the neighborhood with a farmer's porch and I did not care for the overall look on the house. We called Matt and asked him to give us some plans and designs and after looking at several recommendations, there was one that stood out and appealed to us. We contracted the job and also asked Matt to replace the front door with a faux wood laminate door as well as replace a front window. The result was a great looking porch that has become one of our favorite sitting places. With a mahogany deck and a bead board ceiling with small flood nights, it has added both value and appeal to the house. The door was an added bonus and sets the house apart from others in the neighborhood. "Dan is an accomplished professional, responsive, easy to talk to and very accommodating to any requests we had. His work is excellent, knowledgeable in all aspects of home maintenance, pays attention to details, and maintains a neat and clean work area. Dan worked both inside and outside our home. We would not hesitate to have him back for any future project. Here's an example of one project Dan completed for usâ ¦ Years of water intrusion had weakened an area near our front door and a chipmunk borrowed through the siding and made a home. After humanely evicting the critter, we were left with a hole in the side of the house and damaged molding on the front door. We contacted Dan and discovered water had damaged all of the lower clapboards in the front of the house, and they needed replacement. In addition, some of the underlying sheathing, base plate, and studs had rotted and needed to be replaced. Further complicating matters, the pilaster molding along one side of the front door was ruined and a replacement was no longer available from the manufacturer. Dan quickly and professionally made all the repairs â including fashioning a new pilaster molding from scratch. To prevent future water intrusion, he was careful to seal and prime where appropriate -- including places only Dan would ever see. After he painted the siding and varnished the front door threshold it all looked better than new."
