"JR was very courteous and described every detail of the Whole House Safety Maintenance electric program. I purchased a 25yr old home and was unsure of the safety of several remodeled areas. JR checked every detail on a long lilst, tested all wall outlet and switch, GFCI outlets, electric panel, plus many more. I learned a lot. Definitely would recommend JR and Ashpaugh electric company"

"Our hot tub died around the time of some storms. I just wanted to make sure the electrical system wasn't the cause/was okay. He came out when he said he would, went above and beyond by un-wiring the hot tube. We're in a great place to replace it when we have the money. It was well worth the service charge for the piece of mind. Also, he's really great at explaining how things work. I learn something every time we use him."

"I called John Featheringill for an estimate on 2 bathroom remodels and was astounded that his quote of $2,500 for a complete (small) bathroom remodel was HALF that of another I'd received from another company. We met again to discuss in more detail the job I have in mind for the first quarter of 2013.  He offered sound advice on the amount of investment that would bring a good return when I sell my home. He has been consistently punctual in responding to me by phone and email, and showed up on time for both appointments, and with a very warm and pleasant demeanor even after a long work day and despite awful Northside rush hour and construction traffic!  We will meet again soon to decide on the details of the project that will be started in the spring.

"Joel Thomas and the people that work with him are professional, polite, and considerate. There is no need to be concerned about the people working with him. He is very helpful in suggesting colors that work well. He let me know when they would arrive, and they were on time. They covered and moved furniture, and worked hard and carefully. They patched imperfections on the walls, and painted the ceiling and walls. They also replaced four light fixtures that I had purchased. They cleaned up after the work was done, moved furniture back, and made sure that I checked to be sure everything was OK. Joel Thomas has painted and done repairs on the outside of my home twice before, and I would always hire him for that kind of work."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Greensboro, IN

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
