"Complete renovation. New tiled shower, drop in tub, cabinets/ granite. Relocated tub drain. Installed new tile floor with radiant heat. Removed wallpaper, retextured walls. Work was done as requested. Things did not always go smoothly, but all my concerns were addressed and corrected without hesitation. Absolutely love our new bathroom. <br />"

"The project began on schedule, and the demo went very well... When the new layout began to take shape, our first problem began with our shower lay out. Because we requested a built in cabinet behind the shower wall, the initial design of our shower had to be altered to allow room for the shower door clearance. Then after the new plumbing was done we were not happy with how close one of our double sinks would be located to the shower door wall. When time came to have the walls texturized, and painted, we were very disappointed in the quality... The two man crew that work for Mr Sitton are very good workers, and very respectful, however, it became obvious that there was a lack of experience by the crew, as the texturing was sloppy, and not consistent... In some areas, it was thick and in clumps, and in other ares, there was hardly any texturing. After the texturing, they painted, and the paint was also bad... Heavy in some areas, and streaks where there was hardly any... They also got overspray on the white ceiling. We requested that some of the areas be redone, and that the walls be painted by hand, and the ceiling repainted. When this was completed, it became obvious that it was a hurried job, as there were areas that the painting came short of the baseboards, and there was several spots where they had not repainted at all. <br /> At week ten of a estimated four week project, we called in a professional painter to look at our master bath, and we showed him the areas we were concerned with. He agreed that the job done on the walls was done poorly, and advised us what needed to be done to be corrected.  <br /> After meeting with our contractor, we advised him we were not happy with the job we hired him to do, and that we were relieving him of his services, and we settled at an agreed final payment less what it would cost us to redo the walls. <br /> We feel that we learned much by this experience, but would not give TIER 1 Remodeling a favorable recommendation due to the quality of the workmanship done. <br />"

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Greenwood, LA

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
