"I had 2 other bids prior to selecting A Better Chimney to tuck point the chimney on our 80 year old house.  I chose A Better Chimney because of the reviews on Angie's list, the proposed plan made sense to me,  the bid was reasonable, and my positive impression of Brandon.  I was kept informed of the plan each day.  Changes to the schedule (due to the weather) were always communicated, along with the revised plan.  Devin worked hard each day and made sure that I was aware of what he was doing and, most importantly, he ensured that the area was secured for my dogs.  Devin and Brandon were considerate of, and communicated well with my neighbors, so much so that my neighbors hired them at the completion of the work at my house.   This was a very positive experience.  The work looks great and the clean up was very thorough.  I would not hesitate to refer A Better Chimney to friends and neighbors or to hire them again should the need arise."

"After the scaffolding was erected, the top ten courses of brick were torn down and rebuilt, with proper flashing, A chimney liner was installed and the smoke chamber built up and parged. A chimney cap was installed, and some tuck pointing done. The guys were careful with the scaffolding and cleanup, and answered all our questions. The work was done promptly. The office could have communicated better, but there was no real problem. And the fireplace is now safe and works fine!"

"We had a very good experience with Oregon Chimney Repair & Cleaning. Jeff came to assess the problem, and he explained hid bid clearly and thoroughly. We got scheduled within a reasonable amount of time (considering our rainy weather), and when Joey came to do the work he was so respectful of our privacy that we didn't even know he was here! He replaced tiles, removed moss from the chimney and crown, applied waterproof cement to the crown, and ground out and regrouted damaged joints - even dyeing the mortar to match. He did a great job and left our place spotless. Jeff will return in a few days to apply sealant, and we're delighted to have a 5-year warranty on the work done. We appreciated the professional and friendly service, and they got the work done at a fair price. Total cost: $1300"

Even though it took a few back-and-forth voice messages between myself and Jay (the owner of J&S?) before we connected, he was very good at calling regularly rather than leaving me hanging. When we did speak and I explained the scope of the job, Jay was very forthcoming about his inexperience with this type of work and suggested that, while he might attempt the repairs if I desired, it would probably be better if I found someone more directly qualified. He even suggested a lead or two. <br /> While I didn't actually have any services performed by J&S, I would nonetheless recommend them for their integrity, honesty and professionalism. <br />"

"<p>I purchased an angies list deal to have them do a tune-up on one fireplace.  I was originally planning to install the blowers myself, but ran into problems getting around the natural gas hose.  Instead of risking a NG leak, I asked them to install the blowers in each fireplace while they were there.  They adjusted to the extra work with no complaints and with a great attitude.  They even didn't charge me extra for the installation.  </p> <p><br /></p> <p>They arrived a little late, but called ahead to let me know.  There was a lot of black ice that morning, so I was happier they were late and being careful.  </p> <br />"
