"I learned about Raindrop Roofing NW when my neighbor across the street recommended them to us. He is a retired contractor, so I trust him. He shared with us that these guys were good, professional and they are local. He also urged us to get at least 3 or 4 bids before hiring them, because it’s always good to have a base for comparison. The sales rep that came over, Lee, is a pleasant guy. He took a look at the attic, measured the important things and got back to me with a quote within a few days. He also followed up a week later to see if I had made a decision, but I didn't feel any pressure in him inquiring. All in all Raindrop Roofing NW seemed to be the best quote, as they were also taking care of a few new skylights we wanted to install. Between the time we paid our deposit and the time they started the job, we had an electrician perform some electrical work in the attic and he noticed that the central section of the roof was missing trusses, hence there was a little bit of sagging. It was almost as if the previous owners had started some work in the attic and never completed it. We reported the issue and asked that the missing trusses would be installed prior to the beginning of the job. Despite an initial lack of communication on this aspect, which caused a couple of days of delay, the crew on their first day installed all the missing trusses and then started to work on the roof. These guys are hard working and professional - and I might add fast, when rain allows. They removed the old layer of roof, replaced a few rotten sheets and started installing the new charcoal compositional shingles with a vent ridge system. Due to inclement weather, they couldn't complete their job in a week, but I have no doubt that these guys can stay on schedule weather permitting. When the work was completed, a friend who is understands structural engineering took a look at the attic and commented that, despite the new trusses, the roof still needed support in the central section. I communicated this to Kenny Courtney, the Vice-President of the company. A few words about Kenny: if there are golden professional and behavioral standards for any company representative, Kenny Courtney embodies all of them. He took his time to drive in person to our home, take a look at the attic and offer us a free consultation from one of his business associates who specializes in structural improvements. His words were: “if my guy thinks that more needs to be done to make this safe, we will take care of it and it will be on us”. He gained all of my trust and respect for offering that. The contractor specializing in structural work showed up at our door a few days later and upon inspecting the roof, he also agreed that, in order for the roof to be structurally sound in the middle of a heavy snow storm, a 14 feet beam needed to added in the middle section. Kenny took the recommendation from his associate and reached out to me to schedule his crew to come over and install the beam at no additional cost to us. He also managed to have the beam dropped down from the roof, without having to go through the house. I came home and it was all done. This is what I call going above and beyond for your customers and, being a business owner myself, I know that this is the only real competitive advantage you have in any industry, other than hard work and integrity. I feel this company, and Kenny in particular, have showed to possess all these three qualities. I would hire them again and I would recommend them highly to anyone who wants a beautiful, solid roof over their heads."

"Ricardo and his team are the best! We originally hired them to clean the moss off our roof. They were the only ones who got on the roof before providing a quote which was lower than all of the others we received. Ricardo took pictures to show us what was going on up there. After cleaning the roof he let us know about concerns they encountered while doing the job. He gave us his opinion and some options which included repairing the roof or replacing it along with the pros/cons of each. After they finished cleaning the roof we hired them to replace part of our fence. Once again, excellent job! A few months later we contacted Ricardo for quotes to repair or replace the roof. "All Surface was one of three companies I had come out to put together proposals. I must admit their proposal was less than their competitors, but that's not the main reason I went with them. I really appreciated how they listened to me as I went through what I wanted. They also offered great suggestions and feedback to end up at what I think was the perfect plan & design. I can't say the same for the other two companies. As for the work... the new roof is amazing! They did a terrific job in tearing off the old roof, prepping, and then installing the new one. Every little detail came out exactly as planned, and I didn't once feel I had to go out there and talk with the crew or remind them of anything. They knew what they needed to do and took care of it. The only downside, which is really minimal is that they did take a few hours longer than the original estimate but that's totally within reason. It was supposed to take 2-3 days and they ended up needing another 3 hours on a 4th day. That's was not at all a problem for the quality they produced. I've been a homeowner for many years, but this is the first roof I've ever had to replace. It's a huge expense and I was certainly anxious about it, but they did a great job and keep me at ease. I absolutely recommend working with the great folks over there for any roofing project you may have!"

"Rain City Roofers: an honest, straightforward, skilled and reasonable roofing contractor I was entertaining the idea of having a major home improvement entity install a new roof, new screened gutters and new upstairs windows on my 1911 home in inner SE Portland, but the price tag shock (over $30K for those three projects) gave me considerable pause. And this companyâ s sales technique (which I now know is called â price conditioningâ (contractor starts out with what they represent as the average price for the type of project, rather than figuring the time and materials cost and adding a reasonable profit), was a turn-off. When I questioned the price approach, the big outfit started offering a much lower price. But now I did not trust them. Instead, after more research, I decided to go with three different companies, each of which specialized in only one product and service, and each of which was very straightforward regarding its bid to do the work. Rain City was not the lowest bid I received for the roofing job on our SE Portland home, but I was impressed by the high level of installation quality (e.g., using more nails than the minimum to ensure shingles would not blow off, as well as its use of an attractive and intelligently designed architectural shingle made by Owens Corning, a tried & true company, and also the degree of care that Rain City put into planning and executing the roofing proposal. But what absolutely sold me on Rain City Roofers was its honesty and straightforwardness from start to finish, by each and every person connected with the company, including its knowledgable sales rep Don, the receptionist (Elizabeth), the entire roofing crew that came out, and the owner Jason and his son Austin. I could not be happier with the finished product, and I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Rain City Roofers to those in the Portland metro area. This outfit was a genuine pleasure to deal with, from start to finish."

"Steve Wade, the owner, immediately responded to my call for the roof to be replaced on my home. He reviewed the process with me in detail and drew up a concise and fair contract for the extensive area involved in my two-level home.  He had the dumpster delivered and the very next day the crew was on the job.  They were very careful to use all safety equipment and worked quickly to remove the old two layers of shingles.  They placed a liner over the bare roof to protect it from and moisture until the new shingles could be applied. The crew also covered shrubs to ensure that they would not be damaged by falling shingles.  One section of a back addition had lost some shingles two years ago and the wood was starting to rot underneath.  The crew replaced the entire section while making sure that I was aware of this addition to the project.  The shingles that I chose were then very quickly placed on the roof while the crew members were tied off to safety hooks since the roof has an extreme slant.  The project was completed in seven days which was wonderful considering how noisy it was (understandable for this type of project though).  Steve Wade came out the next day to review the work and note any punch list items that needed to be completed before final payment was made.  He was very responsive to get crew members out as soon as possible to complete these items.  This company is very professional, the workers are careful and listen to any concerns from the owner or guidance as to where to store tools during the project.  I have used this company in the past to paint my home and I was very pleased that I chose them for this major roofing project.  My home looks amazing now and Steve made sure it was done correctly and that I was satisfied with the results.  I will definitely continue to use this company for any future home projects that require remodeling, etc.  They are a fast working crew and everyone is professional and leaves a clean area at the end of each day.
