"We hired Functional Floors to refinish the hardwood floors in our new home and install new wood in areas where there was none. Unfortunately, what should have been a straightforward project turned into a very disappointing experience involving poor communication, questionable decisions made during the work and a finished product that required multiple attempts to fix. Throughout the project, decisions were made by the crew without asking us how we wanted things handled. Those decisions resulted in visible filler, patched areas, and other issues in our newly refinished floors that required them to come back out and attempt repairs. For a project of this size and cost, we expected much better attention to detail and communication. When we raised concerns, the crew lead who originally did the work was confrontational and not helpful in resolving the situation.
