"I used HomeAdvisor and found two companies to come give me quotes to repair a leak in my half bath. Kanga Roof and Atex. Kanga came first and they sent a sales person (charging $50 for a roof inspection and quote) who told me he would have a hard time finding the leak point without an attic to check in. The sales person said I needed a new roof and he could only warranty a repair for 1 year and it would cost upwards of $2500. They came back the next day with a sales pitch for a new roof ranging from $9k to $12k. Mind you my home is small at 1300 sq ft and a low pitch basic roof. Maybe they use better materials. The pitch was done professionally. Next Atex came, they were prompt, courteous, and good with communication. They sent a project manager who inspected my roof pretty quickly (for free) and said he wouldn’t need an attic to figure it out (he actually had practical roofing experience). He found the area, let me know why they would do and showed me pictures they took. He said they could fix it for $1,200 with a 4 year warranty and told me I could get close to 10 more years out of my roof and in no way should consider replacing it yet. I appreciated Atex’s honesty here. They were booked about two weeks out. They quoted me on a Thursday and finished a Friday job early and called and said they could come that Saturday. They were here and gone in about 3 or so hours and showed me the before during and after photos again too. I highly recommend Atex!"

"Lucas came out as promised the next day. He was thorough, professional and friendly, and I appreciated that he responded when others would not. Despite the inclement weather, he climbed onto the roof and checked everything out. After his inspection he took the time to explain exactly what we were dealing with. We will be needing a new roof once the winter weather leaves our area. But when we are ready to have one installed, this time I won't be searching for a roofing contractor. I now have one. . "The team that executed the project was punctual and knowledgeable and they mostly stick to what the sales guy has promised. However, there was one last-minute change: they claimed it would take too long to remove the siding and apply the dense-pack insulation on second floor walls from the outside, making it impossible to finish the project in just one day. The alternative was to drill holes from the inside to apply the insulation, which I approved. They cover the holes when the finished, but it didn't look good (see the picture I attached). They run a blower door test before and the result was 4,175 cfm50. After the finishing, they did the test again and the result was 2,850 cfm50 (31.7% of improvement). They applied with Consumer's Energy and DTE for rebates and I could get back a significant amount of what I invested on this project."
