"Patio Enclosures was fantastic, the subcontractors that came to do the job were not. However, Patio Enclosures sent two Field Supervisors over to spend and entire day addressing all of our concerns. Overall, their customer service is what made us happy with this project and we absolutely love our 3-season room!"

"Clark and his crew did exceptional work in a timely manner. I have a very large area in the front of my house that a large window had to be special ordered. I had to make a decision on two different models of windows. Clark helped me make my decision explaining the curb appeal one had over the other. I am very happy with the choice Clark helped me with. As each project was completed, I had communication with Clark. The old windows (single pane) were hauled off, the rotten wood, from the overhang where the soffit and fascia were installed, was hauled off and my old roof material was hauled off without leaving any debris in my yard. They also tore down my old deck cover and saved good material, aluminum sheets, so I could reuse it for another purpose and replaced it with an more manageable option. The jobs they performed were very professional. I with no doubt will use Express Sunrooms and Windows again. I believe this project was money well spent. Julie"

"We've used Tallent's in the past, and they do great work.  This time it took about a month to get the quote, from the time they came to look at what we needed done.  By that time we had already chosen someone else.

"Rick was able to meet to look at the scope of work very quickly where all other contractors i called (the ones that actually answered or return voicemails) were weeks out. Throughout the process Rick stayed in touch with me and his workers were clean and mindful of the property. Would definitely hire again and will on the next project at the house!"

"BHR is an excellent company. They show up on time and do an outstanding job every time. We have used them several times over the past 4 years and their work is always consistent and done according to my expectations. The owner stands behind his work. He comes in and works right along side his guys. His workers are polite and work hard. They come early and stay late. I would recommend them to others who need home repairs or renovations. I have never had any problems with their work. I will definitely use them again and I am already making plans for BHR to do some more remodeling for me in the near future.

"This is the reason I subscribe to Angie's List, to find quality companies like Window World. The company has been around for many years, and the local franchise has installation techs that have been on-board for years.  To me, that's a sign the company is good to work for.
Starting with the first contact, the rep brought over samples of window glaze with a heat lamp & Crookes radiometer and vinyl siding for demonstrations. There were no high-pressure sales tactics by Mark our rep; only a recommendation for the products that would be right for the house, and not what was most expensive.  After that initial contact, my wife and I took a couple weeks to decide and gather other estimates. It was no contest. When it came to estimates and tax considerations, and quality of work, Window World has them beat.
The removal and installation phase was methodical and thorough. Attention was paid to detail with verbal progress reports periodically.  Any questions I had were answered.  I was told the installers, Tyler and Truit (sp?) have worked together as a team for the company for years. They handled every aspect of the contract with very good results. They cleaning up daily, and covered unfinished areas if it looked like rain was coming. Which brings me to one of two suggestions when it comes to having work like this done...  We held off having the work done until the fall because of seasonal plants around the house and because of pre-existing termite damage that had to be dealt with. However, the termite damage repair (by Borden Pest Control) went on far too long, and not done correctly as the Window World installers discovered and amended. The consequence was having work start when it was too cold, (especially in the mornings) to work with vinyl siding materials.  Tyler managed his time well by doing other things like metal fabrication in the freezing weather, but there was only so much that could be done until the temps got warmer.  To add to the freezing weather issues, there were many consecutive days of hard rain. He apologized often and said a job like this would normally take a fraction of the time, but there really wasn't anything that could be done about the weather. Botton line: Look forward a couple weeks to see how the weather is going to be.
The other suggestion is, if you can afford it, to have all the work, (siding, windows, doors, etc) performed on one contract. There is a preferred, logical, order of work to make things easier on the installers. There was a package discount as well.
Overall quality:  I expected the outcome to be good, (given what we had on our residence already), but the result was far better than I imagined.  We haven't had a warranty work request yet, but if or when that time comes, it shouldn't be an issue. It appears they are prompt at answering warranty calls in reading other posts.  I will update this post to reflect any warranty work.
Price: Initially, there was some sticker shock in all the estimates I received from different companies. But a little research showed this was a good price. There were no cost adjustments on my part, in the work outlined on the estimate and contract. Case-in-point: Grovetown unexpectedly, and considerably, raised their permit fees. Window World assumed that added cost. Lastly. if there was any question on building materials specified, Window World gave me the benefit of the doubt.  They did have very low interest financing available, but if you can swing it, use a points-based Amex and pay it off at the end of the month for added bonus. Payment was made with 50% up front, and 50% upon completion and inspection.
Afterthought: The rep and installers gave suggestions when asked, for color and material styling to make a home look updated. This was very helpful.

Update (April 2015):  All windows, doors, and siding working as they should. Still very happy with the quality of work."

"South Point Roofing & Construction did what they contracted to do, on schedule, and without hidden charges. As a homeowner, I have had (too) many experiences dealing with contractors who promise a project at a certain price and fail to deliver quality work or find every excuse to charge more for the work than they estimated. After having my roof replaced by South Point, I doubt I'll ever have such an experience again, because I will have them do ALL the work on my home in the future! If you need quality work done professionally, promptly, and for a fair price, South Point is your best option. My experience began by using their website to explain what I wanted done. I completed the on-line form and received a call from Christie the next business day. She confirmed the information I submitted and set up an appointment for Tucker Hawley to come look at the job. Tucker arrived and discussed what I wanted done and made suggestions for the project. He was extremely helpful and took time to explain how the project would progress from the estimate all the way through the process of collecting final payment. I expected him to send me an estimate by email after he took some measurements at the house, but he was far too efficient for that. He accurately measured the square footage of my roof using their drone in a matter of minutes. From there, he was able to produce a full materials list, allow my wife to select the shingles that would look best on our home, and schedule a time for work to begin. Within an hour, Tucker had a contract prepared, our deposit was paid, and the work was scheduled! Before leaving, Tucker explained the buildertrend App, which allowed me to access the schedule for my job, review all documents related to the work, and, most importantly, view photos of my home as work was completed. Right on schedule, the materials were delivered to my home. I received a notification on my phone and pictures of the shingles and other materials (including the invoice) on my phone through the App. The next morning, the construction crew was here and work began. Throughout the day, I continued to receive photos of their work. When problems were uncovered they would document the damage and the repair(s) done to correct the problem. This continued for the next two days until the rain came and delayed progress. As efficient as they had been everywhere else, I was frankly concerned they would be worried about getting to the next job while finishing my work with a skeleton crew. Instead, it seemed their effort redoubled. Schedule changes were updated on the App and Christie, Tucker, and Billy Hawley stayed in contact to keep me advised of what was going on. Unfortunately, counting on the original schedule, I had scheduled Dish to re-install the satellite dish on the new roof Thursday afternoon. (South Point could do this, but other work unrelated to the roof needed to be done by Dish too). When the Dish technician arrived the roof wasn't finished, but South Point's job supervisor worked with him to get my satellite dish reinstalled as they continued the work on the roof. When the work was done, all evidence they had been working seemed to disappear. No nails were left behind, trash was hauled away, and everything was clean. Aside from the beautiful new roof it was like they hadn't been here. I could not be happier with the appearance and quality of my new roof. Several friends saw the work as it was being done and commented on how great it looks. One of them who was in the construction business for several years commented favorably on the quality of the materials they were using and the work being done. I will unhesitatingly recommend South Point to all of my friends for any construction work that needs to be done, and they will be my first call for any work I need in the future."

"Called in mid-April for estimate, Mr. Cook arrived on 4/18/14 and we decided in the next three weeks to go with Williams' after comparisons were made.  Mr. Cook came back out to house and finalized exactly what we wanted, assisting in the decision of shingle choice and color.  If there was any hiccough in the whole hiring, etc, it was that we were left a message by the roofers on the day before, that they would be arriving the next morning.  We never heard the message, and this turned out to be our own answering machine dilemma, but it would have been easier going if, after Mr. Cook had finalized with us, the office would have called to warn us of a start-up date, so that removal of deck furniture, etc could have already been completed.  It all worked out as roofers called from our locked gate @ 6AM on 05/20/14 (shock!) that they had arrived and then helped get everything straight for working. Luckily we were there.  A suggestion would be that the actual subs are given a home number AND any cell numbers as well to avoid this. This is what we did to avoid repeating with other subs.
The roofing team of Larry's was almost mechanical, a well-oiled machine, and it was easy to see as the day progressed how they were able to complete our large house so quickly and efficiently.  it was obvious that they had worked well together for a while as they seemed to know step by step who would be doing what and when.  I never saw anyone slacking or empty-handed.  If they went down the yard with shingles, they came back with trash for the trailer.  They maintained my yard and decks very well, without any damage, using huge tarps when necessary.  One worker walked around in between tasks picking up errant tacks, that missed the tarps, which I appreciated. I continue to pick up some of these as I would have guessed with this large of a project, many that have since fallen from shrubbery. That is/was not a problem and expected.  I did have concerns about cigarette butts and flaming cigarettes thrown from the top of the roof.  I didn't begrudge a guy working on my roof a cig, but out here with only volunteer fire protection, it could become a little more serious.  Unknown to them, I did pour water in one of my bushes that I noticed continued to "smoke" after a butt flew down.  It was okay and I handled it, just a point to think about sometimes. The roofers worked non-stop; I never even saw them stop for lunch.  They would snack with one hand, or grab a drink and continue with the job.  They were all very courteous and easy to talk with.
The couple that worked on our chimney stone did an outstanding job.  The stone matched well and the concrete has even dried so that it is difficult to tell which is old and new stone.  True stone artists.  They were very pleasant as well.  No difficulties at all.
The gutters at the front entrance look outstanding, matching the metal valley pieces well, making it all look thought out and professional.  The plastic drain pipe and drain tray provided looked somewhat out of place with the stone on the front of the house. This was subsequently easily replaced by pieces of leftover stone from the chimney, making it again appear as one seamless idea.  We also found a flat drain extension to run behind the shrubs, extending from the downspout that helps with blending in.  Mr. Cook even took pictures of this to work into future projects.
All in all, this was much less of an ordeal than we had imagined.  I would not hesitate to recommend these particular teams from Williams' to my friends.

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Grovetown, GA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
