"Once again, great service by Bousman Garage Doors! Called and scheduled service the next day. Tech arrived early, replace the seal in record time and did great work! They did such great work last year, I called them again this year for a different issue. Highly recommend them and will use them again."

"We had a dishwasher leak in our kitchen and Dave was referred to us by a family friend. What we thought was going to be an easy fix Dave uncovered the fact that this had been happening for sometime. Also stated he had just done one exactly like this. Our house was built in the 60's so there was a little un levelness in our kitchen. So because we could only see a little spot in the basement. Did not mean that the water had traveled all the way across our whole kitchen and was stuck in between multiple layers of flooring growing mold that we could not see. YUCK.
Dave advised us to contact our insurance company and there adjuster and that he would like to personally meet him here at our home.
Dave's recommendation was that the entire kitchen flooring ,plywood, and all of our cabinetry would have to be removed to open up the areas that had the mold to be able to remove it.
At first we were scared thinking Isn't there another way. An easier way of which there was not.
Dave met with our adjuster and to our surprise the adjuster agreed with Dave. Dave uses the same software as our insurance company does to write a claim so he even wrote the whole claim for the adjuster.
My next worry was that ahh great I have a $1,200 deductible that I am going to have to pay. Dave payed the deductible and we were ecstatic.
From the time of demolition start to the last day Dave was amazing. He went to Lowes with us at night to pick out all of our cabinetry, counter tops, floors, trim, paint, everything. We really appreciated that as our house was older and we knew Dave was more educated in the new modern touch's we wanted to bring into our new kitchen.
We went from old Oak cabinets to a beautiful dark mahogany that just has a wow factor. New double deep stainless steal sink that we just love with a touch controlled faucet.
We put linoleum back down as it was what we had and between us all we agreed that a new tile/ stone look would accentuate our new cabinets perfectly and it does.
There was an ordering issue with our flooring that pushed us back a week that we were not extremely excited about because we were still living in our home and it's just stressful having everything being re-done is just a lot .Either a technical error/ salesmen error Dave says what can I do to make you guy's happy i'm extremely sorry about the delay? Before we could say hey stuff happens no biggie he say's how's about I put new carpet in your living room this week while we are waiting on the linoleum out my my pocket? We both said no Dave you don't have to do that of which he refused and stated the carpet was old and he wanted from the front door to the kitchen brand new before he was gone and sure enough it was.

Dave is grateful guy that cares . He has a great bunch of men that work for him that also care.
. When you ask about his job site foreman you'll be in for a laugh because it is him."

"Well, the first time the replacement was ordered it was the wrong one, which of course, delayed the installation a week. When it was finally installed I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades. This I was not informed of by Home Shield. Then we noticed that there was water on the garage floor and found that the pipe coming in from the wall was leaking at the wall so had to call the plumbing company back out to fix it. They first tried to say it was not their fault but since there wasn't a leak before they installed they did fix it. I have used Home Shield a few times before and never had a problem. Some of the companies they use are not the best so you have to research them before you commit. I have found HS service to be good if you do your homework. At the end of the day I was without hot water for almost 3 weeks but it was do to the plumbing company they sent out."

FAQs for doors (interior) installation and replacement projects in Hamilton, IA

If your existing frame is in good shape, you can replace an interior door without changing the frame. This is a budget-friendly option because it saves on the cost of removing and installing a new frame. By choosing a slab door that fits your current frame, you'll save on labor and materials. Just make sure the new door matches the old one's dimensions for a smooth replacement.

Standard interior doors are 80 inches tall and range from 28 to 32 inches wide. Interior doors vary from 24 to 36 inches wide, depending on their purpose and the available space. Building codes require interior doors to be at least 80 inches tall and 24 inches wide. Knowing standard sizes helps you select a new door that fits properly in your existing opening.

It costs $600 to $2,000 or more to move an inside door. The total price depends on your location, the type of door, and materials needed to complete the project. Moving an interior door requires walling up the leftover space and opening up a new wall where you want the door to go instead. You’ll also want to plan for the expense of framing the new wall opening and adding trim.

Exterior door installation costs an average of $1,175, with a typical range of $525 to $1,800. The higher expense compared to the cost of interior doors comes from the need for exterior doors to be weather-proofed and they are often made of thicker, more durable materials. The associated exterior hardware must also be able to withstand harsh weather, so these cost more as well.

It costs between $300 to $2,500 to make a doorway wider on average. However, the wider you need the space to be, the more it will cost. Some homeowners choose to widen interior doorways to make the house more wheelchair accessible. In order to be wheelchair accessible, an interior door needs to be at least 32 to 36 inches wide. Also, some older homes just have narrow doorways due to the nature of how homes were built differently many decades ago.

It takes between two to five hours for a professional door installer to install an interior door, depending on complexity and materials. A pre-hung door typically takes around two hours, and larger doors like double French doors can take up to five hours. If you’re doing the project yourself, expect it to take a little longer than that, especially if you have little to no experience completing this type of project. Keep in mind that a pre-hung door can be installed about an hour or two faster than a slab door.
