"Mahon was a great choice for this job. The house drains join into a cast iron sewer pipe in our basement, and an exposed section about 2' long was so rusted out I discovered the problem when I accidentally pushed open a hole with my finger while scratching at the peeling paint. The plumbers cut out the pipe and junctions and replaced the whole fitting with PVC, including a new clean-out cap that was easier to access. The time between initial visit and the job was less than a week (fortunately I was able to install a temporary collar that covered the hole and kept our house going in the interim) and cost about what you'd expect for that type of job. They were very conscientious about the repair, including going a bit above the estimated work to ensure the problem was completely covered and no new rusting issues would occur.

"It went very, very well. They showed up on time and stayed late to get our basement put back into tip top shape as quickly as possible. It took approximately six weeks to complete the full job. They would have finished sooner if I didn't have to have this special shower surround, me and my bright ideas which went on back order as we entered into pandemic mode! "Ehrhardt Brothers is great. I'm a repeat customer who appreciates the great customer service this vendor provides. Today I had Rob, who made short work of my many tasks. The toilet required a cannister chain adjustment. To fix the Dishmaster, he tightened the packing nut and handle to stop the dripping. In the basement, he tightened the packing nuts for the main and hose bib shutoffs. Then, he tested the sump pump and declared it operational (recommending battery replacement between five to seven years). The most complicated issue: the outside faucets require replacement hose bibs, which I'll schedule for spring. In the meantime, my other problems were solved in under an hour. Thanks Rob!"
