"We were debating whether to build a three or four season sunroom. After discussing how we wanted to use the sunroom with our salesman Jeff, we opted for the four season. We are so glad we did. Itâ s now winter and we can sit in our new room and watch the snow fall in comfort. It is our favorite room in our house. The crew working on our project were professional and friendly and had excellent suggestions for us along the way (thanks Mike and Kyle). We couldnâ t be more satisfied with our new room. It has exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend Garrett Glass if you are looking to add a sunroom."

"Built a 12x16 composite deck. Work was completed way past the contract date it was supposed to be done. Weather did cause a small amount of that. Customer service was great. Deck looks pretty good but materials uses were extremely poor quality. Especially considering amount payed for the project."

"We consulted with Robert Horne Contracting to remodel a very dated bathroom for us. From the start, they were very communicative from when he'd have the estimate (we ended up getting that earlier than anticipated) to picking out fixtures to start date. As with any old house, there were some challenges with hidden things which added to the tasks needing to be performed. He told us about those as they came up and gave us the very reasonable estimates, if the issue required extra work. He was able to remove the build-out above the sink and rework the plumbing to vastly open up that space giving the appearance of a bigger, roomier room. We did a walk-through and got written confirmation of our punch list items. He gave us a date of when he'd be out to complete the odds and ends and was there promptly on the given day. We are very satisfied with the work he performed and especially with the communication. We never once wondered when he'd be there or what was going on with products being delivered, etc. We are very happy customers!"

"Exceptional workmanship by craftsman that worked on the project.  I say craftsman because this was a very difficult project to execute and make look right.  They made many suggestions that were incorporated into the project that I hadnt thought of, like the cathedral ceiling in the porch enclosure.  The sunroom and sunporch kits that came from the factory as custom orders and fit perfectly.  It was a long project taking nearly 2 months to complete because it had to be done in proper sequence but it never rushes or I never felt like they were imposing on our privacy more than expected.   <br /> Price wise, it was the most expensive contractor but the product was far superior to the others.  There was not much flexiablity on price because so many structural unknowns that canb occur when adding to an existing house but it was reasonable.  The quality of work was worth it.  No additonal charges were incured and the job was completed as contracted for the price contracted. <br /> The workers showed up on time daily and often worked late and a few weekends. <br /> The Four Seasons salesman Ralph was very helpful in seeing the potential of the house with the new additions.  He never discounted our ideas but kept real on what could be done and the cost.  <br /> Very honest as over $500 was removed from my bill when Four Seasons learned some fees overcharged by local zoning and inspection offices were returned to the Four Seasons.   They could have kept this I would not have ever known but they removed it from the bill.  <br /> It has totally transformed our house front and back.  The added value is far greater than the $75,000 we put into the project. <br />"

"Totally impressed with every staff person from Garrety and the product. I was impressed that only two guys, Kevin and Dalton, did the actual construction. They arrived each day at or before the time that they said that they would. This was after they had to drive more than an hour to get to my home. The two of them delivered and unloaded all of the heavy lumber, cement, hardware, and tools for the platform construction. Six days later they delivered and unloaded the wall and roof framing, windows, and roof. Every day they cleaned debris from the work and sunroom areas and put tools and supplies away. They were very knowledgeable and clearly explained what the work plans were. They patiently and clearly provided answers to all questions that I had. On the first day, I was impressed that the two of them alone, each with digging bars and post-hole diggers, no machine tools, manually dug the six 30" deep x 18" diameter post holes in my clay and rock soil. The second day was equally impressive as they came early again with a jack hammer power tool to remove the existing cement stoop porch. Each day the two of them alone progressed quickly on construction. Framing the 300 square-foot platform base (perfectly level), placing, securing, and blocking each 2x10 joist, cutting, laying, and caulking the foam board, and laying in the R-30 insulation, cutting, and securing the Advantech flooring. Their progress and efficiency continued as they cut out the 16"-centers roof trusses, attached the ledger board with two lag bolts into each truss as required by code, cut back the house shingles and attached the sunroom roofing and wall framing. The flashing, caulking, window installation, wrapping, fascia and gutter installation, and other details completed their perfect construction. Their precision and attention to detail shows completely in the final result. The sunroom is better than I expected. I love it. Everyone that sees it is impressed."

"Mr. Lehman came out to my home and provided an estimate for removal, replacement and installation of  a new screen door for my back porch/deck . He went over everything with me he explained what parts of the porch/deck I could actually have repaired and what had to be replaced. My back porch was in pretty bad shape top to bottom.  He told me he would get me in as soon as he could and if he had additional time in between jobs he would squeeze me in since the job wasn't to big. He called me and came out within a week or two. He did an exceptional job, he was very professional,on time and I'm very pleased with the finished work. It took him two days and everything was cleaned up and the back porch looks very nice. He also repaired a my broken bathroom door, It was totally off the hinges and needed some wood work. If you want quality work, don't hesitate to call Lehman Exteriors. I will definitely hire Mr Lehman in the future for more jobs. <br />"

"We are really happy with our beautiful new front doors and the work that ShreveCo’s employees, Kevin, Larry and Greg did. Randy at ShreveCo helped us decide the type of door to purchase and even the color! He wrote a contract for the materials and labor that we reviewed and signed. It did take some time arranging appointments and then for the doors at HMI, a Philadelphia company, to be built and spray painted. Because we have an almost 100 year old Craftsman bungalow, we had to have a custom front door made. Home Depot, etc. didn’t have the size nor style of dental molding (none) that we needed. HMI made a highly insulated fiberglass door with wood graining, 6 lights and no dental molding. Our back door was a standard size. We went with a wood grained steel door that was vertically half window. Both doors came pre-hung. Randy recommended that we purchase a standard Andersen storm door for the back and then he would install it. The Andersen order took longer than expected to arrive, pushing back the installation date. But ShreveCo was ok with that and even picked up the storm door for us. Our old house door openings were not square so a bit of extra measuring and custom trim sizing was needed, all done accurately and professionally. Its wonderful that our new doors are all airtight and open and close easily. The men moved the doorbell location and threaded a bell wire for us. The new doorbell button required a larger bore hole so Greg carefully made it larger. That was going the extra mile. The three men who worked on our house couldn’t have been nicer and more professional and I felt safe with them in the house. They were industrious and their work was thorough. If either my husband or I had questions they were happy to answer them. The job site was left clean and neat at the end of each day. While the time estimate was 2 days, it took ½ day longer mainly because of the extra work needed to fit our wonky door openings."

"It went very well! Darrel came out, gave us an estimate, which we accepted and set a date. He arrived at the agreed upon time, was courteous, professional and very neat. He had to remove all the old dry caulk around each skylight and replaced it... very neatly. With the window, he had to remove the wooden exterior trim and replaced it with Fhipon (not sure of spelling). It turned out very nice, and he kept to the estimate. We are very pleased with his work and will hire him again."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Hanover, PA

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
