"I contacted them because they were highly rated on Angi. My carpets are 28 years old. I have had cleaners come in and tell me just to replace the carpet. This company came in and did an AMAZING job! My carpets look new. Pet stains were removed and the stairs are immaculate, I would recommend them without hesitation. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!"

"It is a pleasure to give Kevin a positive recommendation. He was prompt professional and did a quality job. He laid the hardwood floor in 2 bedrooms in less this a day and a half. The house was left clean and he communicated very well when decisions had to be made regarding the installation. He is a good, safe choice if you need work done, <br />"

"The quality of the workmanship was good. The crew was friendly and respectful. However, they did destroy one screen and a window blind from the window they used to throw the old carpet through to the ground. I did not point this out to A & D because they did not follow up with a "post installation walk-through" as stated in their contract agreement. In summary, the sales staff did appear to be a little distant once they received my payment checks. Also, I did notice a statement lying next to the new roll of carpet that their costs was .06 cents per foot and .54 cents per yard. If that is the case I feel quite foolish -- and taken -- accepting to pay the price they offered. My wife also insists that the installed carpet in not the same sample that we selected in their showroom (she was at work during installation). Caveat Emptor."

"<p>The entire purchase and installation process went very smoothly.  The in-store consultation and on-site services were excellent.  Augusta Flooring is a locally-run business that maintains a high standard of quality, and I can't say enough wonderful things about my buying experience.  I have already recommended Augusta Flooring  to several of my friends who are looking to remodel and update their homes.</p> <br />"

"Dallas (the co-owner) was knowledgeable and responsive. He showed up as promised to measure and give us an exact quote. The installers likewise showed up on time and did a very professional job. They moved furniture, removed the old pad and carpet and installed the new pad and carpet. The vacuumed before they left. We are very happy with the look and feel of the carpet. The price was very competitive with other carpet stores in Aiken as well as both big box stores. Because the carpet uses the latest DuPont fiber, there is an excellent warranty. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Harlem, GA

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
