"Everything was top-notch from the first contact with Mr. Hamilton through the entire cleaning process. We were considering having new carpet installed but wanted to try having the carpet cleaned to see if it could be restored to a nearly new look. After using Act One, our carpet, which is over 5 years old and has gone through lots of kid and pet accidents, looks basically new. So much less expensive and time-consuming than buying new carpet. Additionally, Mr. Hamilton was pleasant to deal with throughout the process, was always prompt and courteous, and was flexible with scheduling. I would highly recommend calling Act One before you consider replacing carpet or rugs."

"Precision Tile and Stone did an excellent job. John gave great advice re the sourcing of materials and fixtures. He did all the demolition, which was extensive in this 50+ year-old, tiled bathroom. He replaced the subflooring, sheetrock, and put in new tile floor and shower with a higher ceiling. Very attentive to detail in all aspects of the project. Excellent, beautiful results. "The initial contact went very well. Dan and his people were friendly and helpful in explaining the properties of various types of materials. After we decided on marble they had wide selection of style samples to show us and pointed out the options available for finishes. We made our decision and Dan came out to make the initial measurement from which he was able to gives us a dollar figure estimate. Our job was scheduled for a couple of weeks later but we had to put it off because of conflicts we had that developed. They were very good about the reschedule which also involved scheduling some one to remove the old plumbing hardware and cooktop.They offered to do it for us but we decided to have a professional plumber/electrician do the job instead. They came out on the day scheduled and installed the marble tops. The only problem encountered was an unannounced OHSA inspection at the plant that resulted in a delay in meeting the original time commitment. But they came after the inspection and stayed (very late) so they completed the job on the day scheduled. In brief, only an unannounced inspection by a federal government agency marred what was otherwise an very excellent experience. Of course, that was not the fault of Birmingham Marbleworks. <br />"

"Overall, I was very satisfied with Premier Surfaces. Lindsey was my project manager / sales associate. She met my wife and I on a Saturday morning as a special appointment (they do not have regular hours on Saturday, appointment only). I had gotten another quote from a different Granite installer that was slightly higher and they only allow you to see their slabs during the week, which is an inconvenience for me. Lindsey was very nice to us, and she answered all our questions. I felt like she went above and beyond for our whole buying experience. We picked a slab, setup a measurement appointment (really early in the morning during the week, like 7 am or earlier). The measurement appointment was on time and took a reasonable amount of time (maybe 30 minutes). My only disappointment with Premier surfaces is they sold me on their SlabSmith program which supposedly allows you to see how your countertops will look upon installation. I took this to mean it would take a photo of my kitchen, and show me exactly what it would look like in a 3d image. The reality is that it shows you a plan view (from above) of what your countertops will look like, and we chose a black granite which had minimal color variation, so it looked like a few black boxes. Lindsey sent me another version of it that had a grainier granite and it still wasn't what I expected (3d), but I could see how it could be helpful for some folks. I just didn't think it was that big of a deal. For the installation, it was relatively easy to schedule, they were supposed to be at our house at 3:15 and they were about 1 hour late, the 4 hour installation time took about 3.5 hours, and ultimately it resulted in a beautiful end product. So I think there's some room for improvement, but I still would use them again without hesitation. See photos below for before and after (also had floors done) and the photos of the Slabsmith."

"David McCormick with Renovation Crew came by to give me an estimate on modifying an existing cabinet to accomodate a built-in-microwave replacement. Although the job was smaller than the projects he would normally take on, David ended up doing the job on the spot and even went the extra mile to install the new microwave which was not part of the original request. David was both professional and pleasant and I would definitely hire him again!"

Although it seemed to take a long time to complete the job, friends of mine were carrying out similar jobs with grade A contractors, They started 2 months before me and are still not finished. Don and his subs are very trustworthy, and all of them go the extra mile to ensure that the job gets done right. The cost was very competitive, and all of the workers were considerate and very congenial and trustworthy. You will never have a problem leaving them in your home alone.
