"Mr. Eric Windorf (Generations Owner) was a knowledgeable and efficient contractor. Before the job even began, he reviewed it for his bid and in the process he discovered a 2"X10" plank beneath the outer edge of the main span that was dry-rotted at the top, and a second structural issue with the face-plate, and priced them into the job. These structural repairs were completed before the originally described job was begun. When the Township inspector required a replacement of all railings on my 65 by 10 foot deck (including the stairs from ground level, ten feet below), Mr. Windorf designed and built a much better set of railings than the original, plus a gate and short (two treads) stairway at one end of the deck. Once the railings were built and installed, the inspector required revisions that did not seem to relate to the permit book exemplar drawings. However, Mr. Windorf worked to meet the revised requirements and got us our approval. Mr. Windorf was easy to work with, and talk to, and despite Township holdups, got the job done in a reasonable timeframe. I will have him back for my next project. Photos available upon request. "HDF powerwashed the entire structure even under the top two decks.  They removed all rotten and suspect floor boards, railing and posts.  My lower deck was the worst because its the closest to the ground.  The original deck builder did not put flashing on the wall where the decking is attached to the house. HDF put flashing where it was supposed to be. Also, that dug drainage channels for the water to flow away from my lower deck. It had been retaining water around the footers for 15 years.  HDF's attention to detail is second to none.  They primed and sealed all new wood then applied 10 gallons of Behr premium stain.
 
My deck looks brand new and from a short distance looks like a Trex deck.  HDF did an outstanding job.  I would not hesitate to call on them in the future."

"This is our 8th house obviously we have dealt with numerous professional servicemen over the years. For estimates on these current jobs I had to go to electrician, plumber, painter, drywall men and a general contractor, Not discussing the estimates we were give (outrageous) but each call was a minimum of $125 just to open the front door from each. The standard line was. "Well you have to understand this is the busy time". BS! After looking on Angies list we tried AL Hoppe, Handyman. The ad should read "Handyman Extraordinaire!" After one call Al came to the house. NO COST for the estimate. He was able to make all repairs, some very involved. And stayed within the original estimate. We were very impressed with his knowledge and understandable explanations. He worked for several days and we hardly knew he was here. I from upper New England and am always skeptical. No need with Al. He was truly amazing. There are a few more minor things for Al in this house before we move shortly to a smaller old house. I have already discussed several more projects there and a complete redo of a deck. We cannot recommend Al high enough. Several of my neighbors have contacted him as well for various projects. Up to and including a new deck, and a serious drainage problem. All Hoppe is the BEST!! Take it from a crotchety old timer. Wish I knew about him years ago!!"
