"We had a leak under our kitchen sink, after having a not so pleasant experience with one of the larger companies in our area I decided to try someone different. I called Miller Plumbing Solutions, Tyler was the technician that came out. He gave us a couple of different options on how to rectify our issue and the work was completed same day. I will be calling Miller Plumbing Solutions again and do recommend you ask for Tyler. Affordable pricing and good all around experience. "

"Needed sewage pump replaced and line opened up. Called several others (Barr, A+,Fremyer, Comstock, Tri County) . None knew or cared what to do. I was told various things, call someone else or just ghosted. Powells took the bull by the horns. They tracked down the manufacturer of my old school system here in The Woods and with some detective work diagnosed and replaced pump without digging it all up. Two prior companies had said it needed to be dug up. If you have a REAL problem, call a REAL plumber!"

"We called them for a leak in our shower that was occurring inside the wall.  From our call to describe what we needed through the finish we were positively impressed with everybody we dealt with at this company.  They responded promptly, politely, and professionally, and the plumber they sent quickly and expertly diagnosed the problem, which thankfully was one that could be quickly and inexpensively repaired. <br /> At other times we've used two other local plumbing companies, and both were competent, but based on this experience Gene's plumbing will be our choice for future plumbing work. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I had a sump pump system installed in the Spring of 2016. The installation went smoothly and the system was tested and worked fine. A few months later, prior to leaving on a vacation, I tested the system by filling the sump basin with water. Water sensor did not work and pump did not come on. I called B-Dry and they came out and installed a new sensor and switch. Installation now works fine. Very satisfied with the level of service from B-Dry."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Harrisonburg, VA

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
