"John came out and looked at what needed to be done and had some advice on how to make the project even better. The bid was detailed with detailed information on concrete depth and strength, rebar type and placement etc. He was also willing to work with me when we had a few changes/additions to the project. The finished Job looks great. The crew was professional, hardworking and polite. They cleaned up everything and left the area neat."

"Tony gave me, the homeowner, an excellent bid on this work. He showed up within minutes of when he said he would. He brought all the equipment and supplies needed to complete the project, no running around trying to find a forgotten item. He has a great, hard working, professional crew. Excavating and footings poured on day one. On day two the floor is poured and sealed as well as the site graded and cleaned up. I am completely pleased with the price and quality of his work. I'm confident my little project was completed with the same quality and professionalism he would have for a large commercial project."

"Well obviously, we were very happy with them or we wouldn't have signed a contract with them to maintain our yard work next year. We like the knowledge and the fact that the owner was on the site with the people that worked with him and he had good interactions with them and with us. On all of that, I would give them an A. I don't have a lot to compare it with but we were very satisfied. Whatever we paid, we got our money for it."

"After getting a few bids for a driveway, Henry?s contracting gave us the lowest bid by a lot.  He said they would get to it in about two weeks and that was fine, but to my surprise he call the next day and said they would begin right away before they started a bigger job.  In no time at all we had a very nice looking drive.  Henry never asked for a down payment and two days after completion called to settle the bill.  He and his people showed up early and worked late, everyone was pleasant and knew what they were doing.  We would  definitely use this company again and recommend them highly. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"Jake from Sonrise was very professional and courteous. He did a great job with removal of the windows and blocking in the spaces. He sealed the outside and removed the window wells, plus backfilled the window well with soul. He was very clean and meticulous with his work. Definitely will rehire Sonrise Masonry for my next projects."

"Becky and her team did a terrific job.   They used a small bobcat to move the pavers from the cul-de-sac out front to our backyard.  They took a panel out of our fence for ease of moving materials but were careful to put the panel back when the job was completed. They used the crushing machine (sorry I don't remember what it's called!) to crush the limestone base.  They were meticulous about using the surveying tripod (I'm sure it has a name too)  to make sure it was lining up just right (and allowing for a little slope).  They spent awhile checking how level everything was as they laid pavers.  They obviously did okay as we have had lots of rain since the job was completed and we haven't noticed big puddles settling on the patio. <br /> They also helped with placing a long plastic drain tube going from the gutter underneath the deck to drain out away from the patio.  And they helped to replace some broken lattice work with plastic lattice under the deck.    They moved a lot of our extra dirt from the job over to the north side of our house to create a slope along that side for draining purposes.    Finally, they laid sod around the finished patio.  Scott then came by and checked to see that it was up to his standards as well.  They completed the job in roughly 3 days.  It is such an improvement to the space that was there before!  We are very pleased and would highly recommend Horizontal Earthworks. <br />"

FAQs for interlocking pavers for patios, walks & steps installation projects in Harrisonville, MO

To calculate your paver needs:

  • Determine how many pavers cover a square foot.

  • Determine how many square feet you need.

  • Add an additional 10% to 20% for breakage and waste.

  • Consider your pavers’ sizes.

Or, you can hire a local pro who you know will get the right measurements the first time. This way, you get your weekend back instead of spending it measuring square footage.

A pallet of pavers costs $300 to $700 on average, and each pallet covers 56 square feet. The exact price depends on the type, size, and quantity of pavers you choose. Buying in bulk can sometimes offer additional savings, especially for larger projects. Ask your pro how you can save on material costs.

To get the best prices on pavers:

  • Hire a professional landscaper: Pros often receive discounts on materials, which can make hiring them more cost-effective overall.

  • Shop at local building supply stores: Check for overstock or bulk purchase deals. Bulk purchasing can be more costly up front but save you money in the long run.

  • Buy directly from manufacturers: Purchasing from a local brickyard or paver factory can offer competitive prices, especially for large quantities.

The main difference between driveway pavers and patio pavers is their load-bearing capacity. Driveway pavers are designed to withstand the weight of vehicles, whereas patio pavers aren’t suitable for such heavy loads. You can use driveway pavers for a patio, but using patio pavers for a driveway could lead to damage. Always check the weight limits of pavers and consult with a professional installer to choose the right type for your project.

Paver patios cost more than concrete patios because the materials and installation methods require advanced techniques and skilled labor. They deliver enhanced aesthetic appeal and allow for easier small‑scale repairs without affecting property taxes. The higher expense arises from premium paver materials and intricate installation processes that deliver long‑lasting durability and design flexibility. This robust solution provides notable benefits over concrete alternatives, making it a valuable investment for homeowners.
