Customers say: Super punctual

"Baldo was courteous, knowledgeable, and always on time. He and his crew prepped and painted my front porch floor, and side porch door and threshold. They did an excellent job cutting in the edges ... no easy task considering the bright brick red and black that I chose. Baldo took care to watch the weather so that the paint was applied in optimum conditions. They also gently power washed my 112-year-old home leaving it looking wonderfully refreshed. I highly recommend Ambrocio's Painting and would hire them again."

"He did an excellent job. He left things very neat and worked to meet my schedule requirements. I have received many compliments on the quality of the paint job. He is very trustworthy. I have no qualms about him working in my house while I am at work."

"When I contacted FreshCoat, I said "I usually just paint myself, but I bought this crazy metallic paint at Target, and it looks like it's complicated to apply. Do you have experience with this type of paint?"  Reassurances all around. The painter, Doug, called me with a litany of "faux finish" jobs he had done that looked great.

He painted the room with my paint, and after two coats, he packed up, reassuring me that it was going to look great when it dried. Well, after a day or two, it was clearly a disaster. I called Barbara, who came out to look and of course said that the job needed to be fixed. Score 1 star for FreshCoat.

Barbara (administrator) and Douglas (painter) met and decided that I needed to use paint that he was familiar with. This
seemed totally reasonable, and I figured I should have known better than to buy house paint at Target. So I went to Lowes and purchased the primer, base coat, and metallic that they recommended.

Douglas came back, forgot to use the primer (he read the paint cans wrong), and finished the job with his recommended paint. Again, he packed up and left with reassurances. The picture that I'm attaching isn't of wet paint, or of one coat when another was planned. This was the finished job, several days later.

I called poor Barbara to complain again, and again she came out to look at it. I told her that I was not going to pay for the full rate of painting, and we settled on a price for their effort plus several days of work, etc. 800 dollars.

I am giving a C rather than an F because I appreciated that the owners were apologetic, rather than trying to make it seem like I was crazy or too demanding. Barbara's parting words were "Doug usually does a really good job..."  They didn't offer to send another painter to fix it, and I didn't insist, because at that point it had gone on for over a week and I was tired of having people in the house.

I ended up getting boring, non-metallic paint and re-painting it myself. It was a total waste of a thousand dollars (when I add the cost of many cans of paint)"

"He was great, I called on a Friday and he was out to fix it on Monday at 8 AM precisely on time. He did a beautiful job and thoroughly cleaned up after himself. He even vacuumed my entire floor and took the garbage out when he finished!"

"I was very please with the work that was done. Mr. Mazza was on time, professional and completed his work in a timely fashion. I especially liked the stain that Mr. Mazza put on the deck. It came out exactly how we planned. I would definitely recommend Mr. Mazza’s services to other people who are looking for painting or other work to be done at their homes."

"Sean first arrived and gave me a very reasonable quote for the trimwork on the house and garage. Once he arrived with his team, he noticed that the previous contractor had done a poor job staining the house and offered to properly stain it with 2 coats. I agreed to the additional cost. I have a historic house, located in the historic district on Roslyn Heights. The home was built by Charles E. Willis in 1928. It is being restored on the exterior, and Golden Brush is part of this project. He and his team have been outstanding. Really, there aren't words that accurately describe the care, attention to detail and thoroughness that Sean, Ribero and Yousef have done on the house and garage. He provides his Certificate of Liability if you request it. Sean is onsite almost all the time. They are neat, respect your planting beds, and clean up after themselves. I let them use my garage to store their tools and paints since they were here on and off for about 10 days. They arrived promptly at 8:30am and didn't leave until 4:30pm. The house looks fabulous. Sean and his team will return once the new windows have been installed, so he can paint the window trim. They've already primed the windows. I can't say enough, truly. I'd recommend Sean at Golden Brush for any painting work you need, especially if it is a historic or older home. I understands the requirements of such a home. Oh, and he used Benjamin Moore products on the home."

FAQs for interior home or surfaces service projects in Hartford, CT

If you’re thinking about painting the interior of your home, there are a few things you should keep in mind. The first step is to settle on a paint color that complements the room. In a small room like a bathroom, light, cool-toned shades can help the room feel airy and more open. You’ll also need to decide on the level of gloss you want. A satin or semi-gloss finish with a mildew-resistant additive is recommended for bathrooms to protect against moisture.

You should repaint your bathroom every three to four years without waiting more than seven. Repainting helps protect the walls from moisture damage and mold while keeping the space fresh and maintained. Regular repainting also preserves the walls' visual appeal and protective finish, ensuring your bathroom remains stylish and durable.

Applying two coats of paint to your bathroom walls ensures even coverage and long-lasting durability. The first coat primes the surface, while the second coat gives a richer color and better protection against moisture and humidity. This extra layer helps the paint withstand wear and maintain a professional appearance over time.
