"Painters gave a good price & were very nice until they were paid. When they finished, they said they would be happy to come back the next weekend to do touch ups or anything that needed to be re done. They ghosted us, stopped returning our messages and did not come back to finish the job or do touch ups. I also found paint on my couch and a crack in the ceiling where they painted. We sent the pictures to the contractor and they did not respond. They took short cuts and painted around several can less lights, resulting in paint on the brand new lights we just had installed. We are very disappointed in the "end product." We would not recommend them to anyone who takes pride in their homes due to lack of follow through. We have the photos to support the lack of quality and craftsmanship & the conversations where the painter decided to stop replying. They left no paint for us to be able to do our own touch ups. I am unsure this company is licensed and insured. "

"I've used this company many times, not only for painting, but for handyman jobs. Jonathan and his crew have proven to be efficient, knowledgeable, and just good people! I have referred him to several neighbors, who have been very pleased with their work. Most recently, I decided to change a small room into my craft room and Jonathan was able to paint the room in a short time. I have never been disappointed with the work of Touchstone!"

"Everything was completed as promised. When we had concerns or when we found small areas that were missed, they returned to touch up. Ray was very helpful to explain the different types of paint used. Painters were polite and friendly. We rehired them to come back and paint our office shelves and desk. We painted all of our dark wood to white and it looks great. We will definitely hire them again."

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Harvard, IL

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
