"The sales-rep came first withsamples and helped us chose the carpet we liked. The price he quoted was somewhat high and we said we would have to think about it at which point he lowered it by $300 since we came through Angie's. I wanted to check in other places to compare prices. I checked with three more places and the average quote was about $200 cheaper. However, I was more impressed by Bay Carpet professionalism. I calendar the rep and told him they can have the job if they come down another $200. He agreed and I hired them. The two carpet layers came nand did a great job, all in less than five hours. I am very happy with the results. They sure will have my business again."

"I brought a carpet from them and after a few months I noticed mold growing under the carpet. I hired a Mold specialist who did a entire report about the mold and that it didn't come from my home but rather from there warehouse. I contacted them and each one including the owner was nasty to me. She is too busy going back and forth to Florida. Go elsewhere..."

"Not well. Carpet guy came with two helpers whose behavior was questionable, He did not do any of the cleaning himself. Carpets remained very wet for a long period of time. Overpriced for quality of service performed."

"I am thrilled with the kindness and professionalism of the entire staff at Class Carpet & Interiors. Robert and Georgia came to measure and advise on the best product to use for the individual windows. I couldn't be happier with the blinds. The turn around time was phenomenal, less than three weeks for custom shades, and the fit is flawless. They look amazing and are very easy to pull up and down and the material is very easy to care for (clean when needed). Kevin is very sweet, made all the arrangements and followed up on the progress. Their installer Shimon is punctual, works quickly and flawlessly. This was an all-around wonderful experience and I highly recommend Class Carpet & Interiors for any window treatment project."

"They were great. Ed from Allied was able to come that day to provide an estimate, which I was very happy with. He was able to send the installer 2 days later (my requested date). The installer, Augie, called me to tell me when he would arrive, and came when expected. He was very friendly and professional. I am very pleased with the results. You can hardly see the line where I had to cut the carpet. Easy, affordable, reliable, and great work. The way things should be."

"The only complaint I have about them is that, the guys didn't reprogram my TV as far as the TV in my kitchen. It has to be reprogrammed. My daughter did it for me and I had to call the Comcast guy and he had to give me a new signal because they messed everything up. But the rugs they did a good job on. The padding and the carpeting you pay for. Then in the kitchen, you have to pick the wood under the carpeting, they don't put padding under there. The padding is real nice in the living room because it's soft. Every three years I have to get a carpet person to clean it. You have to pay for the padding, the installation and the carpet. <br /> They have to be trained. If they take a TV apart, like the living room, the TV programs itself. But, in the kitchen it's a little TV and it's not as big as the other one, and it had to be reprogrammed and the guy didn't know how to do it. I told the boss, you got to train them right so that when they leave they left it the way that they found it. Because they said they couldn't work around it because they had to put the wood under the rug."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hastings On Hudson, NY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
