Mike gave me the option of using some much higher quality, but factory defective carpet, for a much better price. The defect was dots of small grease stains, every few feet, in a row along one end of the roll. For a much better price, he could cut out the stains for the hall and stairs, and put the stains towards the back of the bedrooms where they'd be covered with furniture. <br /> Not only is the carpet installed perfectly and much higher quality than I planned for, but his guys got the stains out!
