"Time consuming but worth it. They understood Ann Arbor's local ordinances better than any other bidder, and were the most competitive bidder (if not by much, but they still were the lowest bidder). They made multiple trips to ensure the estimate was accurate and took pains to find a fencing solution that would comply with Ann Arbor's convoluted rules, yet be both functional and aesthetic. Multiple install trips as well, to deal with tree removal issues and weather problems. Final installed fence is beautiful. We likely will follow up because the locks installed on the two gates installed are proving difficult to manage, but I fully expect this issue to be resolved satisfactorily. (We have not yet contacted them about this, so it's not their fault that this issue remains unresolved - it's been a complicated year for us and, having worked with them, we trust in their ability to resolve this concern later. If we are wrong about this, we'll follow up on our review.) We found Upright Fence through Angie's List, and it was a good recommendation. We would do it all again exactly as it happened if given the option. We are so relieved to have the old, collapsing wooden fence removed and a new, vinyl fence - properly installed along the lot boundaries. Our thanks to the Upright team...we can understand why they've been in business so long. Experience does indeed count for something."

"The quote process was very good with quick initial response and quick email follow ups. <br /> The job prep of taking out the old chain link fence went very well and the new metal pols for the new fence were installed in concrete as they should be. Some firms do not put the metal poles in concrete but only pound them in. <br /> The install also went great and the end results are super! <br />"

"The initial contact with them was prompt, and the repair was ok. My first concern was when, upon completion of the repair, I paid cash and they would not provide me with a receipt. He said they didn't do that, and the office handled it. How hard it is to have a simple receipt book on hand? Most people don't want to hand over a bunch of cash with nothing to show for it. Upon closer inspection, we noticed that the gate that they re-hung was not straight and didn't seem securely fastened/tightened. I called them back and asked for someone to come fix it properly. They scheduled a date to have someone come look at it (5/4/17 - 2:30pm). Nobody ever showed up. I called their office at 4pm to ask what was going on, and got no answer, so I left a message. The next day I waited until after 11am to give them a chance to call me - they didn't. I tried calling again, and they did not answer. I had my husband call from his number, and they answered right away. Conclude from that what you wish. The person who came out to look at it said he thought the gate itself was "drooping" and was the problem, but he would send someone to tighten it. He came back today to do so, and stated again that the gate was droopy. To me it looks like it is crooked, and it wasn't like this before, but I am tired of dealing with it so I guess it will have to do."

"<p>They replaced the valley by interlocking new shingles. They replaced the boot around the chimney and added new shingles around the chimney.They also replaced needed plywood that had rotted out from the water leak. I watched from time to time.  It was a lot of work to be done.  A lot harder than just laying down a new roof. Alot of companies just want to sell you a new roof and not be bothered with doing repairs. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p>There were three workers. It took two days.They worked in the rain part of one day.Any debris was cleaned up and hauled away. Mr. Collins came to the site several times to check on the work being done.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p>Initially,I left a voice mail message requesting an estimate.He called back in a couple of days.We set a time for the inspection and he was on time calling ahead to let me know that he was on his way.He inspected the roof and we came to a mutual decision on the work to be done. The price seemed fair and he knew exactly what needed to be done. I had a long list of questions to ask him. He took his time in answering the questions and explained things to me until I fully understood. I felt good about our meeting and did not feel it necessary to get another estimate.The result of all of this was NO Roof Leak</p>"

"When it comes to a contractor, the most important thing is character. Is your contractor going to stand by their work or desert you the second anything goes wrong. I had some water leaking from my toilet valve that damaged my drywall a floor below. I found Traylor Design on google, and contacted its owner (Andre) who came out and looked at it that day. Two days later he and his crew arrived to fix the problem. They repaired the drywall, and fixed the valve. Unfortunately, a day later, I noticed the toilet was still leaking and had damaged the drywall they just fixed! Now, they already had my money, and could easily have abandoned me. I contacted Andre and told him the problem, and twenty four hours later his very hardworking group was back and fixed everything, without any additional charge. He never once gave me even the slightest hard time about it. Anyone who has dealt with contractors knows that it can be difficult to get a contractor to come back and fix something they already fixed, especially when its a smaller company like Traylor Design & Construction. When it comes to contracting, it's not rare for a problem to not get fixed on the first attempt, but what is rare is to get someone who stands by their work and comes back to fix the problem. The key is character, and Andre has it."

"The work went well. Aproximately 70 feet of 6 foot high privacy fence with one 4 x 6 feet gate. The work was completed in 2 days plus a callback to realign the matching gate with the fence and adjust the latch. The callback resulted in a bout one additional hour. All was covered in the contracted cost. When we had additional fencing installed we called them firs, but they were not taking residential work. This was during Covid."
