"I needed carpet and vinyl flooring installed in a short period of time, which Empire Today was able to fulfill. I felt that I paid a premium for service on short notice, which I expected. The salesperson was a bit pushy and asked more than once, "do we have a deal?", which felt smarmy. On the day of installation, all went as planned until the vinyl installation was complete. The quarter round was not replaced. When I asked about it, the installer said that "it looks fine without it," which I disagreed with. He offered to put caulk down, which helped, but still did not look like a complete project. I did not like how he dismissed my request. I sent more than one email to Empire Today about this problem, but they did not follow up with me about this issue."

When I did not hear from them, I called number on their website and scheduled an appointment in two days. "It was great at first! But you don't understand how good work is until it's been done for about a year. There are a couple things that I really drive me nuts about the work performed: <br /> - the drywall isn't even so the baseboards and crown modeling has gaps that we have to keep caulking <br /> - there are strings that are coming off the carpet <br /> - you can see a gap in the padding under the carpet <br /> - the cords in the back of the TV are coming from a drilled hole, they didn't put a plate over it (didn't notice this until long after work was done) <br /> - the light switch plates aren't flat on the wall <br /> - the door knob of the door they installed is already coming off (cheap!) <br /> - there are waves in the ceiling where the drywall didn't match up straight <br /> A couple of these things we had them come back out and look at but after it's complete, there is little that can be done. Because there is a flood, insurance paid for portion but we chose to upgrade a lot since our basement was old in the first place. Since we weren't a high paying job, clearly we were back burner. I wish I would have paid more attention at the time the work was done but I didn't. Lesson learned and we would use someone that pays better attention to the details. <br />"

"They did everything they said they would and went above and beyond. They offer a year warranty on their work, show up on time, and even will come back to fix things. Josh is due to come out to fix some things the HVAC people did in a couple of days. They have a store, and they sell flooring, but I did not know that at the time I ordered carpet from Menards. They had no problem installing what I had purchased from elsewhere. I cannot recommend these guys enough! Seriously, if you need flooring installed, give them a call. I am having them come back to quote tile and hardwood flooring as well."
