"We were in need of repair for some cracking in three rooms of our home. We had difficulty finding a reliable contractor to complete the work in a timely and affordable manner. When we contacted Key Painting, Bill was quick to return our inquiry and come look at our projects. Bill proposed a couple different solutions to repairing the cracks in the ceilings and preventing further damage. Once we agreed upon a plan of repair, Bill had us sign a contract and scheduled the work to be completed the next week. Bill's crew was actually able to start a couple days early, and two workers tackled our interior repairs. Both men, Mr. Suhr and Antonio, were professional and skilled. Mr. Suhr was very knowledgeable. He was able to repair and match the texture on all our ceilings flawlessly. We were very impressed with Mr. Suhr's skills and genuine desire to do a quality job. Each day, Bill would contact us to answer any questions and give us an idea of what to expect next. It took about two days to repair the ceilings in our dining room, living room and bedroom. In our dining room, the textured ceiling was also sanded down and re-painted to blend in the repairs. Our living room needed a seam repair that Mr. Suhr did efficiently and blended the wall and ceiling paint together. The bedroom had a 5+ft crack that you can no longer see as Mr. Suhr flawlessly blended the repairs with the sand-in-paint designs that were preexisting. Overall, we are extremely impressed with the skill and professionalism of Mr. Suhr, Antonio and Bill with Key Painting. The crew was courteous, clean and knowledgeable. All our questions were answered. Bill and his crew also stand by their work, so we have confidence that should we need any further repairs, they would be back to correct the problem."

"We needed roof repair, location and repair of leaks in a rooftop deck, and the installation of many cabinets, both base and wall-mounted. Our first contact with Doug Coons was about locating the sources of multiple leaks in a rooftop deck that had been an issue for the entire eight years since we’d built an addition to our home. We’d had at least three other contractors out to look at it and selected one to do the repairs. We invested thousands of dollars into that repair and to replace the ceiling and drywall damaged by the leaks. That “repair” did NOT take care of the problem; the leaking persisted, and all of the money we’d spent was wasted. When I called Doug Coons, he answered his phone on the first ring. He came out within two days and gave us a quote on the spot. I think this was a Wednesday. We discussed the timeline for the job, and I jokingly said, “Well, unless you can have it done before Saturday afternoon, it’ll have to be next week. We’re having a graduation party here Saturday.” To my surprise, Doug said if we needed it done by Saturday, they’d get it done. And they DID. His roofing crew was phenomenal, especially the crew chief. It was obvious from the minute he viewed the interior damage and then walked the deck and roof that he knew exactly what the problems were and how to fix them. He explained very clearly what was going on, why, and what needed to be done. They got to work and were finished and cleaned up and out of there well ahead of the party. We’ve had no issues with leaks since. The next time I called, Doug answered his phone on the first ring. (I’ve since found out that this is standard for him—something which is completely outside of my experience and really appreciated.) We’d participated in an auction to benefit a local animal rescue organization and bought thousands of dollars’ worth of floor model cabinets. They came “as is,” with some damage, and without installation instructions. He and his crew did an outstanding job of configuring, repairing and installing them. Their attention to detail and how particular they are about quality work is really commendable. We’ve already lined up two more jobs with them—drywall, flooring, wainscoting, waterproofing, and more cabinet installation, and I have every confidence that this work will be performed to the same high standards as the work done so far. It’s great to have a contractor who really DOES “do it all,” and I’m so glad I’ll never have to search for and “vet” a contractor ever again. Finally, my husband and I think his quotes are quite reasonable, especially given the high quality of workmanship."

Planning including multiple house calls for precise measurements to maximize dimensions, selecting style options and consulting with lumberyard for stair dimensions and details. "He did a beautiful job. He stopped one day and gave me some references. We went and looked at his work and thought he did a good job. He was a good worker. I think he is kind of a gypsy mason guy. He'll do anything but he doesn't have an actual stone and mortar business, I think he just works out of his house. He has also done our 3 bay garage floor for us. My experience has been very good. He is responsive and he does exactly what he tells you he is going to do. When he is finished it is exactly how he describes it. Sometimes, in construction, especially when you are dealing with concrete, these guys get a little sloppy, a little messy. He ended up producing exactly what he described. Both my wife and I talked to him about it because it's a driveway, it's the entry to your house and you don't want some piece of junk when they get through. I've seen some pretty poor concrete work over the years. So far, it is also very stable, it hasn't broken up or cracked. He put the stress cracks in the right place. He's very good at what he does. He is a little bit slow getting back to you from when he quotes. When he's on the job he's fast, so I don't want to give him a rating that looks bad. When you are trying to get him to do the job, he is kind of slow in that area. He will tell you a date and something will happen and he'll call you. But when he is here, when he is committed he is very fast and he is very responsive."
