"The process went great from start to finish. Work was accomplished as planned. Stephen and his guys work hard ansvwell together and know what they are doing. They cleaned up well after the job. Our stamped gray stained patio came out beautiful. We would defenitely recommend Kondo Concrete and plan to use them to reseal our two patios and walkway each year."

"The job was top notch and reasonably priced Nathan Blackstone and his crew did an exceptional job of removing my 12 very tall pine trees. They cleaned up the debris and left the yard looking like it did when they started. I am very well pleased and would recommend this company"

"Brad and team did a great job and were very professional and responsive. I shopped around and their price was reasonable and the quality of the work was very good. The project was completed on time and exactly the way we wanted and actually beyond our expectations thanks to Brad's recommendations on how to approach the final layout. I would definitely recommend this company to friends and family."

"Mike and his crew were great! They came when they said that they would and finished on time with no delays. Price was very fair compared to others for the same job. Our new patio looks awesome! Would hire again."

"Super professional. Salesman Jeff walked through the project and laid everything out perfectly. I work from home and they worked around my schedule so they would not disrupt any of my meeting. They also took the time to walk me through the project and make sure I understood everything that was happening."

"They came in right on time and worked all day long to get the job done.  They were able to bust up our concrete floor and punch weeping holes to help us alleviate our water issue in our basement.  They put in a pump and french drain to pull all of the water outside of our house.  Since they put this in we have had a lot of rain and we haven't had a drop of water inside our basement. <br />"

"The owner of this company, Sal DiFalco, is not your average business owner. At the time of the estimate, I realized within minutes how much he cares about his craft. He came prepared with stone samples and an iPad full of pictures. He does the work himself with two assistants. I quickly made my decision to book him, but I also picked my colors too quickly. I began a personal struggle with my colors, and sent Sal the first of many texts expressing my concerns. Sal answered EVERY text with patience and professionalism. I ended up changing one of my original colors, and began the wait for him to come out. The weather was less than cooperative. It rained so much, delaying my turn in the rotatation. The wait was not fun. But I understood that Sal was not to blame for the wait, and if he could be there, he would. It was my turn to be patient. Today I said goodbye to my old, ugly, boring concrete, and have the most beautiful house on the street. It was definitely worth the wait. It was a quality job from an outstanding company, run by an honest and caring owner."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Hermitage, PA

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
