"We had the vinyl flooring replaced in our kitchen and laundry room with premium vinyl for an approx. cost of $3500. Overall, the experience was good and we are satisfied with the results. This is due to the professional office staff and the expertise and attention to detail of one employee that came the second day. He made the effort to get things right even if it took more time, I am glad he did most of the kitchen floor. On the down-side, the required 1/4" underlayment ended up raising the floor so that transition strips between the vinyl and the hardwood floors are at an angle (one has already cracked). Also, when they left, the door to the garage would only open about 1/2 way before hitting the floor and rubbing (I ended up removing and replacing the door sweep). The hallway door was the same, but they could cut that shorter. The estimate included new shoe molding but failed to take into account that I had about 10' of oak-colored molding so they had to re-use the old stuff (one guy even wanted to re-use the old white molding in the laundry room, he said all it needed was repainted). As a detail item, I would suggest that a touch of white paint on the exposed cut surfaces of molding would finish it right. The office staff was very helpful, they quickly emailed an estimate, responded to questions, set up an install date and contacted us prior to arrival. We would recommend Androws flooring to others."

"The whole process was excellent. We went to Clarksville Flooring based on a Angie's List review, and the review turned out to be very helpful. The staff at Clarksville Flooring were great. We were able to look around and ask questions without feeling pressured. All of our questions were answered and the sales associate let us take a sample board home to make sure that the color we picked was the color that looked good in our house. The gentlemen who did the measurements and installed the carpet were prompt and professional. The price of the carpet and installation saved us approximately $1,000. I would recommend this company to a friend. The sales associate kept me informed at all times. <br />"

"Installation of tile was good.  Problem we experienced was that they cut the doors off 2 inches above the floor.  This allows all sorts of critters in the house.  Made the old mistake of trusting his word and paying them with promise they would come back and install thresholds.  First call responses from Darrell was that it slipped his memory.  Kept promising to come and fix the problem but never came.  Now my calls are not being answered.  Finally I left voicemail that I would have problem repaired and send him the bill.  No response or payment for the repair.  <br />"

"They ended up exchanging everything out for us, but it was just more of a hassle than anything. The installers also didn't speak English so it was hard to communicate with them."

"From their explanation of what I needed to do and move in preparation <br /> for the installation to their concern that I was choosing a carpet I'd <br /> be happy with for a long time, everyone was professional. Their prices <br /> were good in my book, and I am really happy with the carpet job we have. <br /> The installers even explained how they went the extra mile to nail down <br /> the wood underneath the carpet to help prevent some of he squeaking <br /> that was happening with the floor. That alone contributes to our daily <br /> happiness and overall satisfaction. I'd give them an A. <br />"

"<p>We were very happy with the work that was done. We were not onsite when the work was done. However, when we got to see it, you wouldn't know anything had been done. What I mean to say is that, there was no debris left behind. Everything was picked up and hauled away. I had several estimates and his was very competitive. We did a lot of the arrangements over the phone, since we are still in NW Indiana. He was always very courteous and answered all my questions. He gave us estimates for some future work to be done and when the time is right , we will definitely be calling him back.</p> <br />"

"<p>They sent only one person out to do it. I thought it was bad because the poor guy had to do an entire living room and hallway by himself. He didn't complain. It was pretty much what I expected. It was not anything outstanding or anything to criticize.</p>"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Herndon, KY

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
