"Matt was very flexible and allowed us to do some of the work on the remodel, such as painting and baseboards, to reduce the cost. All of the subs (plumbing, tile, shower glass, etc.) were on time, professional and skilled. It was an extensive remodel and turned out beautifully. We also decided to use his services to install wood flooring in 4 bedrooms and that also went very well. Great results and experience!"

"We would highly recommend Dunier Rangel’s Gift LLC for your remodeling needs. He listened patiently to my ideas, then worked tirelessly to execute them into reality! His attention to detail was greatly appreciated - as was the way he cleaned the worksite each night before they left. Was impressed with the knowledge and work ethic of his crew - Alex & son Nathaniel."

"Gilman's came out, as scheduled, to take pictures, measure, make a print of the kitchen and determine what we wanted. They came back a few days later with a plan and a bid, which we accepted. The demo of the old kitchen was done by Gilman's and Housurgeon Inc (Wayne Gregory) Gregory did the tile, electric, and plumbing. (See my post on Housurgeon Inc.) The entire job was well coordinsted with very little down time. The cabinets arrived and were installed and were all we had hoped for. Everything fit as designed Gilman's and the people that work for him were very professional. It's nice to see people who take pride in what they do. <br />"

"Great! They were so professional and responsive. We painted the kitchen cabinets and laundry room cabinets white and they look wonderful. We painted the entire interior of the house and they did a great job. The cost was reasonable given how large our project was."

"Although I put a price on the installation, I had bought kitchen cabinets through Lowes for a new place we have just purchased and it turned out to be cheaper to have it installed than not to use their installer.  I have heard negative things about big box store installers, but I was pleasantly surprised with Mark.  He is very fast, and responds very well to comments, corrections or whatever.  He does good work and is a great guy, and no, I do not know him outside of this job!  He has had to come back a few times, but this was due to delivery screwups and not his fault.  I would recommend him to everyone."

"We selected Cutting Edge to renovate our guest bathroom, and it was an excellent decision. Every detail of the project was carefully scheduled and executed by Cutting Edge, just as it had been promised. Most importantly, Cutting Edge representatives were always receptive if we suggested minor modifications as the work progressed. The final product was more beautiful and functional than we ever imagined. Thank you to Jim for his advice in selecting materials and helping us with the design. Thank you to Jordan, who is an incredible craftsman and perfectly laid out the tiles. Thank you to Garret for managing the renovation and keeping us informed at all times of how the work was progressing. Finally, thank you to Kerri who cheerfully and efficiently oversaw all the administrative tasks. I look forward to working with Cutting Edge again in the near future. Joe Rojo – Micanopy."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in High Springs, FL

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
