"The pro videoed my pipes for relining purposes. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. Royal plumbing seems to have very professional people working for them. He was straight forward and told me exactly what needed to be down. He gave me a rough estimate of the cost, but told me he would have a written quote for me by the end of the day."

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"I will only call these folks from here on out! When I discovered water in the basement, I contacted a plumber. He spent several hours looking for the source. He left to get materials and didn't return. After several no-shows, I contacted Wolff's Plumbing and Heating. Within a few hours, all of the work was done. Rod, who worked on the plumbing, and Wyatt, who worked on the furnace and AC, were very professional and courteous. They made sure that I understood what the problem was, what to look for in the future, and ways I could save money."

"I wish I had used these people earlier. I ordered a part for my dryer and was able through their instructional video to fix it myself. Let me tell you I am "mechanically challenged" in just about every way. LOL I may have cut myself through my own stupidity but I did it. it was easy and I did not have to pay a repair man for a simple fix. Thank you so much!"

"The lower element of my Marathon water heater burned out. Nick Kraft cut out the old heater and moved it out of the way- he even helped carry it outside to my garage. He put the other heather in place and plumbed it in. He added a backstop safety relief tank that brought my plumbing up to current code. The only complaint I have it that he did put a long enough drain hose on the relief valve so if it ever release water, it would go onto the framing members of the basement. He was curteous, on time and explained exactly what he was doing. I'd use him again for any plumbing needs. <br /> <br />"

"All went well. Jim is an honest business man that provided quality service at a fair price. All products and fixtures used were quality items. 3 bids were taken, all using the same specifications, and Rushmore Plumbing was awarded the contract. Their price was far more reasonable than the others. Fully understanding that Rushmore Plumbing is a reputable business, I understood that they are very busy and scheduling would need to be done efficiently. Although the project did sustain a few delays, Jim made sure that I was well taken care of in a timely fashion. Thank you for your quality workmanship, honesty, and professionalism. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Hill City, SD

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
