"I have used Spencer Steam Cleaning about a half-dozen times to clean my carpet. I have older carpet in my downstairs and a dog. Phil Spencer always explains he may not be able to get out some of the ancient stains before he starts the work, but he always manages to do it! He is punctual, professional, and explains all the options, like whether you want to add a deodorizer. He lifts the furniture and puts styrofoam blocks under the legs so they don't stain the damp carpet while it dries. I will continue to use him because he's always done a good job for me and is not as expensive as some other companies. He takes a lot of pride in his work."

The carpeting on the stair steps and in our walk in closet was particularly in need of a cleaning, installed 21 years ago, beige color, not cleaned other than regular vacuuming, and in need of a re-fresh. All the areas cleaned turned out very nicely, we could not be more pleased. The employee who did the work (Thomas) was on time, polite, completed the work in about an hour. He has been with the company for several years, which speaks well for the company and the employee. Also, for a very modest fee, he cleaned two smaller area rugs that had not been on the list. I will certainly use this company again. I understand this company also cleans and seals slate tile, which not everybody does, so will follow up with them to do our kitchen floor before the holidays."

"Services were provided in a very friendly manner by Jim, the owner of the company. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing and provided us with tips on what to do in case we ever had stains in the future. He even left us a bottle of their cleaning solution which he explained was a mixture of vinegar, lemon and water. Unfortunately I think what Drystep does is more sanitizing and deoderizing of carpets rather than actually deep, lasting cleaning. Their equipment seems to suggest as much since they don't use a heavy-duty vacuum and water-based solution that other vendors use to suck the dirty water from the carpet through a hose to a truck outside. Instead, he had a spray bottle and an appliance that was about the size of an upright vacuum (no hose leading to the outside). And while I appreciate the attention to service and Jim's willingness to return for a follow-up visit to reclean an area, the clean appearance just didn't last. To illustrate this, a week after our service date, we spot cleaned a small area with their cleaning solution, gently rubbing the carpet. We ended up with an approximately 12" circle of carpet that looks noticeably cleaner and brighter than the rest of the carpet. The spot is quite noticeable. Unfortunately, short of cleaning the rest of the carpet in the same manner -- getting on our hands and knees to clean one area at a time -- we will just have to live with this spot until we have the carpets cleaned again. And in spite of Drystep's friendly, customer service, I think we will use a different vendor next time. <br />"
