"We enjoyed working with Randy, the salesman, from the beginning. He gave us several options to fit our budget. Bob, Juan, and the rest of the crew were professional, friendly, and very efficient! It was such a great experience, we plan to use their services for several other projects. I highly recommend Homeland Construction!"

Always paying attention to detail. Keeping my customers happy from beginning to end. Painting and drywall is my specialty but I do much more. I'm open and honest about what I can and can't do. Give me a call to discuss your project

"<p>It went great, of course. I have used Custom Woods twice before, initially to build all the kitchen cabinets and book cases for a new home construction; and again to build an entertainment center and cabinets for a finished basement. They are the best and I trust their recommendations, advice and assistance. </p> <br />"

"Chad had installed the tub surround in our bathroom remodel project originally. The tub surround has 2 places that can be removed in case access to the plumbing is needed, they put magnets to hold it in place After it was completed the inside corner where the quartz & tile meet were too tight in case we would need to remove them. Chad came & trimmed a very small sliver of quartz. It went great, no chipped places, polished it before reinstalling. All good now!"

"We met James at the Salina Home Show and loved the concrete countertop samples he had.  He came out to our home a few days later to walk us through the process, give us an estimate, and discuss our style/color preferences.  A week later he came over to install the countertops.  He had the whole job complete and cleaned up in a day and a half.  We couldn't be happier with the finished and his professionalism! <br />"

"Our siding was blown off during the December 2021 horrible wind storm. We tried unsuccessfully to reattach around 4 pieces of siding several times. After the third time we decided to let a professional do the job. Brandon and Heritage Builders took care of our siding problem so quickly and professionally. The communication was excellent, the workmanship was skillful, and the timeliness was quick. We will definitely be using them in the future."

FAQs for cabinets reface projects in Hillsboro, KS

Absolutely. Refacing returns 65% to 80% of your investment at resale, and you get an updated kitchen right now. Because you’re not paying for new boxes or demo work, the price lands well below complete replacement but still delivers a fresh, custom look that buyers—and you—notice every time you walk in.

To trim costs, start by pricing a high-quality paint or gel stain instead of full refacing—stain alone can be one-third the price of full refacing. Keep existing hinges and pulls if they’re in good shape, and shop sales for sandpaper, primer, and sealer. The sweat equity is real, but so are the savings, and a careful DIY job can still leave your cabinets looking sharp for years to come.

A professional crew needs only three to five days to reface a standard kitchen, although a larger layout or intricate door style may add one to two days. Compare that with the several weeks a full cabinet swap can drag on. In other words, you get your space back fast, often before the paint on the new doors is even fully cured.

Yes, you can replace just the cabinet doors and drawer fronts without covering the cabinet boxes. Cabinet refacing involves installing new doors and drawer fronts while applying veneers to existing cabinet boxes. If you’re satisfied with the condition of your cabinets, swapping doors and drawer fronts reduces labor and materials, saving you time and cost. Always consult a professional to confirm compatibility and ensure a seamless, high-quality finish.

Most cabinet refacing projects do not require removing countertops because professionals can access doors and drawers around existing surfaces. However, if your countertop overhang prevents full access to the cabinet boxes, contractors may need to lift the countertop to install veneers properly temporarily. Discuss this with your refacing specialist during the on-site estimate so you know exactly what the project entails.
