"Hands down Kimi's Carpet is second to None!! Finding this hidden "GEM" "Kimi's Carpets" on Angies List was the BEST decision ever!! Not only did Kimi Execute like a Champ with their Quality Installation and Superior Customer Service. She was able to get all the flooring installed in the time we needed it done, with time to spare before our family arrived! This store has exceeded our expectations in so many ways, from start to finish this was "the best" flooring install experience we've ever had! We will back for all our future flooring needs! Thank you so much Kimi's Carpet!! Big John and Jacqueline Counts!"

"Greg Ward bid on the project. He knew his business. He gave us the quote -- lower than the other two providers we contacted --told us how long the job would take, and tried to answer our many questions (we had a lot). There was a lot of back-and-forth over the color and texture of the new carpet. Greg was patient, and sent us a number of samples. We finally found something we really liked. <br /> We set a date, but had to push it back one day because of rain. The crew arrived on time and completed the job in eight and half hours. They did a skillful job installing our new carpet, which we like very much. <br />"

"Outstanding experience from start to finish. Shayne was very helpful helping us decide an appropriate flooring product. Jason was continually in touch before and during the project. We never had to guess when, where, or what. A very pleasant change from other contractor experiences. JH was prompt, communicated, completed the project on schedule and provided insights and guidance. Quality installation. I couldn't ask for more."

"I went to Bell's Carpet looking for some new carpet for a well trafficked room of my home.  The associate who assisted me, Brenda, was very knowledgeable and patient (I had never purchased carpet before).  I decided on the carpet, Brenda came out and measured the area to be carpeted to give me a final price, I paid a 50% deposit, and the carpet was ordered.  The carpet arrived in approximately 2 weeks, and the installation was scheduled for 3 weeks.  The installers came and installed the carpet in one afternoon, and they finished clean-up to my satisfaction before they left. <br />"

"The staff at the Persian Carpet is fantastic! They are incredibly knowledgeable (PhD's!), friendly, helpful, have high integrity, and go the extra mile. Their store is THE place to go for a great selection of beautiful, high quality wool and silk rugs from all over the world. I enjoyed doing business with them on several occasions (purchasing rugs, rug cleaning, rug appraisal), and highly recommend them."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hillsborough, NC

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
