"We contracted Nei Brothers to give us an estimate of replacing the carpet in our entire house. Dennis was extremely knowledgable about his products. The level of service on our first visit convinced us that this was the company for us. <br /> The work was done in 2 phases to lessen the disruption to our special needs child. They made sure to have his bedroom completed and ready for him before he came home from school. The quality of the workmanship cannot be beat. The quality of the materials used far exceed our expectations. Because we had this done on two different days, the clean up between each phase was outstanding. Overall this company is one of the best service companies I have ever dealt with. <br /> I would and do recommend NEI BROTHERS to anyone in need of carpet! <br />"

"I needed some stair-runners installed. The owner, Mike, came out and measured my stairs. Mike was detailed and very knowledgable and even drew a sketch of my stairs for me. The price quoted seemed fair. Unfortunately, due to the runner material (hand knotted), and pattern i selected, Windy City Carpets was unable to install the rug the way I wanted (expanding the rugs on the pie shaped curved pieces of the stair). But they were honest and prompt, I would hire them if i need future services for more standard rugs."

"Marcus and his crew were prompt, polite and willing to go the extra mile to provide excellent service. They were pleasant in their manner and patiently answered any questions and addressed all concerns efficiently. The Carpet was installed in the time promised with superior workmanship by himself and his crew. In addition, their manner in getting the rooms prepared for the Carpet installation and moving furniture was professional and they replaced every item in the room as well after the Carpeting was installed and the whole job went quite smoothly. We are very pleased with the Carpeting and it looks beautiful.  Whomever hires Marcus and his crew will be very satisfied and the entire process from start to finish will be executed in a professional  manner with all the details completed as well by Maxwell Carpet Sales and Installation with reasonable and competitive pricing. <br />"

"I was amazed an how swiftly our first meeting with Brian at Creative Carpet went. We knew what we wanted, and Brian was attentive to our input, swift with helpful suggestions, and not pushy with upselling to things we didn't need or want. The installers were prompt on arrival, wasted no time in work, and did an excellent job on the stairwell and the hallway. I am a very happy customer."

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hillside, IL

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
