"He did an excellent job.  It turned out to be more work than originally estimated to replaced the kitchen light with 2 recessed lights. He was very professional and did outstanding work.  I would hire him in the future for any other electrical needs.

"Overall, I'm extremely impressed with LPD+Architectural Stonescapes. Ninety percent of the work was very good the first time; for the remaining part that had some problems, they returned twice more and kept after it until it was done. The bluestone repair, patching up a great big hole, is invisible. If anything, it looks better now that before the excavation. And supervisor Maria Larios was on-site taking charge of the most of the actual work, which is really rare in my experience. Thank you for excellent results.

"

I have lived in Oak Lawn for 25 years and on many occasions have lost electrical power due to heavy storms.  On several occasions this had required that I be home and able to continuously run a manual backup generator.

Last week I finally had a backup house generator installed by Adams Electrical Services.  The owner Dorian Adams could not have been more professional and accommodating.  He worked around my schedule, and with one assistant was able to complete the job in one day.

Compared to other prices that I had received, I was pleasantly surprised to learn how affordable Adams Electrical was.

Upon completing the job Dorian made sure that I understood how the system worked, and made sure that I understood that I could call him down the road if I have any questions.

I had spent many years worrying about my basement due to my sump pump not working as the result of  power outages.  I wish I would have contacted Adams Electrical Services years ago, and I highly recommend them to anyone who still has flooding concerns, due to the loss of power during heavy Chicago area  rains.

"Half of their work is very good. The other half is mediocre. They patched, acid etched and coated our 58 year old concrete porch with polymer modified coatings. Less than 6 months later the coating is worn and chipping off. They acid etched and coated the garage floor and said it would probably crack someday. Someday was 3 weeks. They removed the old wrought iron railings and installed new aluminum railings whose angles and placement do not match. They still have not replaced the small railing gate protecting the basement stairs. They installed Unilock Pavers. The pavers are basically level. They were supposed to repair and reinstall our chain link fence gate. They dug out one post and reset it leaning north. The gate was worse than before they started. We had to pay someone else to fix it so that it stays closed. They removed and replaced the asphalt driveway and did an excellent job but we spent 2 weeks with the driveway dug down to the clay with machinery and debris everywhere. The two river rock sections are very well done. They work, when they please. They say “we’ll be here tomorrow” and finally show up days later with increasingly outrageous explanations. This project is not finished and we are very displeased with the quality of the work and the way that Uptime Builders do business."

FAQs for outdoor lighting plan and installation projects in Hines, IL

Permit requirements for outdoor lighting vary depending on your location and project scope. Simple fixture replacements don't require permits, but projects involving new electrical circuits, extensive trenching, or significant system expansions often do. Local building departments establish these requirements, and many professional electricians handle permit applications as part of their service package.

The timeline for outdoor lighting installation varies based on project complexity. Basic systems might require only one to two days for complete installation, while extensive lighting networks with numerous fixtures and complex wiring needs could extend to a week or longer. Weather conditions, property accessibility, and soil characteristics can all influence how quickly professionals can complete your installation.

Outdoor lighting offers both practical and aesthetic benefits that many homeowners find valuable. Beyond enhancing nighttime visibility and security, well-designed lighting can highlight architectural features and extend outdoor living hours. While installation represents a significant investment, quality lighting may potentially increase property appeal and could contribute to overall home value.

Some outdoor lighting projects are suitable for homeowner installation, particularly simple solar fixtures or low-voltage systems that plug into existing outlets. However, projects requiring new electrical connections, permanent wiring, or integration with home electrical systems demand professional expertise. Electrical work carries inherent safety risks, and improper installation could create fire hazards or code violations.

The operating cost for outdoor lighting depends primarily on your fixture types, bulb selection, and usage patterns. Energy-efficient LED fixtures consume significantly less electricity than traditional incandescent or halogen alternatives. Controlling your lighting with timers, photocells, or motion sensors can further reduce energy usage by ensuring lights operate only when needed or beneficial.
