"Initially, I thought it was fine. However, I was very curious why the contractor would not let me talk to the insurance adjuster. He told me to stay in the house and leave everything to him. (RED FLAG) I'm not sure why I let that happen. After the negotiations and the contract was signed, the contractor advised that he failed to charge me for the cost of the chimney. We specifically talked about the chimney cost and how he wasn't putting it in the contract so it wouldn't alert the insurance company (RED FLAG ) He would just charge me another $1200 for the chimney or not do the inside work. At that point, I should have cancelled the contract. The contractor yelled at me that he forgot and he made a mistake. Yelled at me in a very loud voice. He then did that "used car" sales pitch where he has to go talk to his boss and then comes back and sends me an email that they will fix the chimney for free. I spent about twice what my budget was, and I really am mad at myself for failing to get other estimates. That is on me. The roofers put a new roof on - my old roof was less than 5 years old - not sure if a simple repair would have been okay and left a mess in my yard. There was debris from my gutters and little blue things that they use when they replace a roof. I told the contractor that, and he said "the roofers don't make money if they clean up after the gutters and feel it's not their job". Okay, whose job is it? Who did I pay to do a job? Am i supposed to hire someone else to finish up what the roofers left behind. My pet peeve is when I pay someone to do a job, and they don't finish the job and say it's not their job. That makes me so angry. Again, I'm so mad at myself. I know better. I just felt like at the end of the day I was taken advantage of. I don't think I needed a whole new roof, I spent twice the money I had budgeted, and I had a mess to take care of. I use Angie's List so I can avoid being taken advantage of and considered the "old lady" who doesn't know anything."

"This is the best customer experience I could ever possibly imagine out of a contracting company! Everyone in this company throughout the process was incredibly knowledgeable on their duties. J&B West Roofing and Construction company is professional from top-to-bottom. They had their roof professional come to my property to do an estimate on a REPAIR of my roof due to wind damage, and he even knew that there was a strong chance that the REPLACEMENT of the ENTIRE roof would be covered by home owners insurance due to a defective shingle that is no longer circulated in the market. He double checked with his co-workers via text message photos and spoke with them on the phone to make sure that this was the case, and he was correct! The knowledge and due diligence of this individual saved me so much money in my roof replacement (about 15,000 dollars to be closed to exact). It doesn't stop there! Their crew came on-site later than planned (due only to inclement weather), and they finished job within 8 or 9 hours to the most supreme standard. I was so excited at how well everything went that I had went and personally shook the hand of every worker at least twice. Even further! They have clauses within their contacts that say you have to pay within x amount of days (I can't remember the exact amount of days, so let's call it 30), and I never received any kind of extra charge due to my insurance company and my mortgage company taking much longer than x amount of days to get everything handled. I even went out to social media claiming their excellence, not even knowing at the time that they had a customer referral program, and someone I know dearly had decided to retain their services. I was contacted by that someone, and they told me that J&B would be soon sending me a referral check! This company will be taking over this industry before we know it. Please know they absolutely have my personal endorsement. If I could give them anything more than a 5 out of 5 on this website.. i would 10 out of 10 times. Excellent."

"He inspected entire area around the chimney. Found a few spots that could be the leak source so he repaired all of them. Carefully removed the old shingles, put down a rubber membrane snow and ice barrier and then put down new shingles. So far problem seems to have been resolved. He is very meticulous in his work and does whatever is necessary to do the job right. Would definitely hire again."

"First Josh came out and did an extensive inspection of my roof; taking pictures to substantiate what he saw since i wasn't climbing up on the roof. He took the time to explain everything in language I understood. I knew from start to finish what to expect and there were no hidden surprises. Mike my project manager came introduced himself to me prior to the job and he made sure I had no questions also. The day of installation the crew was here on time and worked from start to finish. Everyone was nice, they cleaned up afterwards and didn't make my 2 questions seem dumb. Although I'm glad this is not something I will not have to do often, if I did M & M would DEFINITELY get the job."

"The materials used were excellent and finished my roof in 2 days. Had to wait for the gutter replacement but once they were installed the workmanship and materials were great. As with most contractors, they are so busy completing a project, that sometimes communication is minimal."
