"My kitchen sink was clogged, I called around 11am and two technicians were by my door step around 2:30pm. They did a fantastic job and cleaned all the work area. They even repaired my leaking pipe. Will for sure to hire they again."

"Great experience. Although this was not an emergency situation, we needed the work done quickly. Ralph couldn't have been any nicer or more competent. He answered my phone call right away, and within 24 hours all the problems were fixed. He came out with Peter, and they both worked hard, evaluated the problems and took pride in doing a good job. A third man came out to snake out a drain blockage. They were here for more than a couple of hours, and charged a very reasonable price (labor plus parts) for a few different fixes. Very satisfied. Would use again."

"I can't begin to describe how wonderful everyone in the company is. I hired them to fix a sump pump pit and add a pipe from the sump pump to an existing drain. After they finished the job and were testing the new setup, we found water was coming in my apartment. They stayed an extra 3 hours troubleshooting where the water was coming from, including breaking through walls when needed. It ended up being an outdoor faucet pipe that had cracked in the wall and was ruing things. They were there for a total of 7 1/2 hours and never complained. I offered for them to come back another day to fix the new issue, but they kept saying that they didn't want to leave me with issues. Iâ ve had plumbers in the past not want to take the time to break through a wall and find the issues, who didnâ t test things thoroughly and leave while there were still issues. These guys were a breath of fresh air."

"Vannes Service and Drains LLC completed my bathroom project and, I could not be happier! Four words I would use to sum up Shahe: responsive, courteous, professional and friendly He called right away to discuss my project, provided a reasonable quoted and scheduled time for the very next day. He followed up to confirm his arrival and showed up ON TIME. In between answering all of my curious plumbing questions, he stayed on task and completed the work expertly, all with a friendly smile. I would highly recommend Vannes Service and Drain and plan to use them for future projects."

FAQs for drain clog or blockage clearing projects in Hoboken, NJ

Snaking a simple clog near a tub, toilet, or sink often takes about five minutes. Deeper blockages along the main line can stretch the job to a few hours because the pro must feed extra cable and may need a camera to confirm the pipe is clear. Either way, specialized tools help pros work quickly and keep your drains running for the long haul.

Aggressive snaking can scratch pipes, push debris deeper, or even crack older lines. That risk is low with an experienced plumber who matches the cable size to the pipe and eases the snake through bends instead of forcing it. If you’re unsure of your technique—or your pipes are already fragile—calling a licensed pro is the safest, and often cheapest, move.

Start with simple barriers: mesh screens on every tub, shower, and sink keep hair, food bits, and jewelry out of the pipes. Skip harsh chemicals; a monthly flush with hot (not boiling) water clears light buildup without damaging plastic lines. Finally, practice smart disposal—no grease, wipes, or kitty litter down the drain—and schedule routine cleanings if you have older plumbing.

Roto‑Rooter typically charges a flat $160 to $450 for standard snaking, which may include a quick sewer inspection and basic clean‑out. Exact pricing depends on the clog’s location and complexity. Repairs or part replacements fall outside that flat fee, so ask for a line‑item estimate if your tech spots broken pipe sections or recommends additional work.

Most liquid cleaners rely on caustic chemicals that eat through hair and grime—but they also erode metal and even some plastics over time. Repeated use strips protective pipe coatings and can leave you with leaks or premature failures. If hot water or a plunger doesn’t help, call a plumber for mechanical removal instead of pouring more chemicals down the line.
