"The installer was very professional and adept at installing the blinds.  He completed all 7 windows in about 1 1/2 hours.  He brought his own large trash bag and put all of the trash into it. He had measured the windows several weeks before and had them cut to size at the store.  They all fit perfectly.  Lowes followed up by phone the next day to make sure everything was working all right and informed me that there is a 1 year warranty on the installation.  The entire process of ordering and installing the blinds was amazingly easy. The price was great and as a veteran I received a 10% discount which is greatly appreciated."

" Diana the designer came to my home to figure out the best option for replacing three different sets of window treatments that had worn out. In addition, I wanted some new treatments on windows that had not had anything. We had a lot of ground to cover and Diana was full of good ideas as to what might work in each space, suggesting things that I had not considered which ultimately worked out well. In addition she could clearly explain what differentiated the various Hunter Douglas products and which areas I could save a few pennies on and which were worth the extra resources. Because she asked good questions on the phone before coming, she brought the right samples so I could see how the various options would function...especially the Vignette Modern Roman Shades...I had thought they would look to "new' in our older, more traditional home, but they look perfect. <br />  She also helped me pick some wonderful fabric for new drapes. She and the installer agreed that my older hardware was still functional and still looked good, so that saved me some pennies as well. I love the new fabrics and they work well with everything we already had in place. The installer was also terrific. He adjusted Diana's original measurements slightly so our new roman shades fit better around our older more traditional molding. They were a great team and we have been really happy with the finished products. I hope it will be another 15 or 20 years before I need to replace them! <br />"

"A couple of years ago I went around town looking for a stair nose material for a stair project I was working on. Unlike all other local companies, Petersen's went all out, getting samples for me to look at, etc., even though this was a very small order for them. For this reason I returned to Petersen's for our kitchen flooring update. Well, Les came out and looked and measured the room. After several communications with Les about some issues with this project, it became apparent that he was really looking at this project from our perspective. It was like he was an agent for us, not just for Petersen's. All of my calls and emails to Les were answered right away. After we finally got things sorted out, the installers came out and did a fine job of installing the floor. After a short while we began to have problems with the flooring materials. Les  contacted the manufacturer and his supplier and sent them samples of the flooring. The manufacturer was not interested in addressing this problem, but Petersen's went all out again and took care of it for us. They could have said they had done all they can do, but instead they stepped up and took care of the problem to our satisfaction. Customer satisfaction is very important to them. <br>"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in Hooper, CO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
