Customers say: Super punctual

"I needed to repair (replace) some of my original concrete driveway and wanted to add about 200 sq. ft. for additional parking. Kevin was great to work with. He replied promptly to the request and kept in touch though out the project planning. He listened to what I wanted to do and provided suggestions as to how best to do the job. In my case he completed the job ahead of the original time frame. He was always on site when the work was being done and his crew was excellent. I highly recommend him for any concrete work you may need done."

"Terrific. Pavers are very hard to get. Our first choice wasn't going to be available until 2021. Pat our salesperson helped us find an alternative that we liked even more. Pat also helped us redesign the driveway and the paver installation at the two entrances to our home. Our trust in his concepts was well deserved. The project turned out better than we had hoped for. Joe did a very good job managing the construction - clearly knows his business: and the workers were top notch, friendly, accommodating and patient with our demands and change requests. We are picky customers and they worked with us to get the end result we were looking for. They also did a good job cleaning up after the work was completed."

"John was very responsive and on time for the initial estimate process and showed up with his crew on the agreed upon date. They competed the work in one day without problem. John was even responsive to my follow up questions a few days later. One month later the driveway still looks great and I am very pleased with the results."

"I have 18.5 acres of undeveloped land in New Hampshire that had been "select cut" for timber years ago. It was left with stumps and debris mixed in amongst ledge and a lot of sloped ground. Jon from Spike Inc was able to clear a homesite from this mess, and plan for an ICF home to be built in this rugged terrain. Along the way Spike Inc has helped me to overcome many obstacles while completing the following: -trenching 680+ feet of underground electrical line and installing the pipe to hold it, and building the pedestal and transformer required by the electric company -trenching and installing a water line to the foundation site from a well -build a new driveway to the homesite again battling ledge and sloped ground -rough out the septic area and plan for install -oversee the planning and building of an ICF structure(footing in place) The Spike Inc crew has worked on the property at different points during this year and overcome one of the rainiest summers in New Hampshire history. Jon and the Spike crew were flexible and accommodating so that I could be present during almost all of the work. It has been awesome to be a part of the whole process. I look forward to continued success working with Spike Inc on the construction phase of my Mountain retreat."

"We contacted Richard regarding the job, and had a quote back within the week - good quote.  He quickly responded to any questions  we had, and scheduled the work.  They completed the demo in one day, a few days before the cabinets showed up - if I had to do this again, I would hold off on the demolition until the cabinets were in, as it is difficult to live without a kitchen, especially with children.  It took approximately two weeks for the kitchen to be completed, with slight delays due to a damaged cabinet, time for the new countertops to set, appliance delivery, etc.  One hitch developed when the dishwasher was hooked up incorrectly, and water ran into my basement - I called Richard, and once I got through the answering service, he contacted the plumber, and we resolved the problem immediately over the phone, and the plumber was at my house at 8 the next morning ( a Saturday of a holiday weekend) to permanently fix the problem.  At the end of the two weeks, we had a great new kitchen, well installed, and we were thrilled!"

FAQs for concrete driveways & floors installation projects in Hope Valley, RI

Whether terrazzo is better than porcelain or ceramic tiles for a kitchen or bathroom floor depends on your design preference. Terrazzo can last a long time, but so can a properly installed ceramic tile floor. According to the National Association of Home Builders, the lifespan of a ceramic tile floor is 75 to 100 years, similar to terrazzo.

You should clean terrazzo floors like you would marble, even if there’s no marble in the aggregate. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the polished surface, and steer clear of acidic cleaners like vinegar, which can damage the surface. Instead, use plain water or a neutral cleaner to mop the floor. Then, use a wet vac or squeegee to remove the dirty water. Regular buffing with a soft cloth can help you maintain the shine.

Terrazzo is made by mixing an aggregate like glass or stone with a binder like cement or epoxy. The mix is made and poured into the prepared space you designate. Alternatively, you can purchase prefabricated terrazzo tiles, which consist of similar materials. They’re poured into a mold and cured before installation.

You can add radiant heating under a terrazzo floor, which is an excellent way to combat the naturally cold surface of terrazzo floors. Installing radiant heating costs $1,653 to $6,656. You'll want to install the heating elements under the thin-set epoxy because the layer is thin enough for the warmth to conduct through the floor.

Making your own terrazzo can be a tricky DIY project. The exact mix takes a blend of art and skill to create and requires the expertise of a terrazzo pro. The wrong blend could crack, peel, or break easily, requiring expensive repairs. Finishing and polishing the floor also requires previous experience to achieve a professional appearance. Expect to pay between $200 and $2,500 for the cost of restoring and polishing floors.

Terrazzo flooring is eco-friendly because it is crafted using recycled materials such as glass, marble, and polished metal, and its epoxy binder emits no VOCs once cured. This sustainable manufacturing approach minimizes waste and supports green building practices. Homeowners gain an attractive flooring option, contributing to healthier indoor air quality and environmental conservation.
