"Key Carpet associates worked with us to determine the best design for our new runner based on our existing decorative style - very helpful. They arrived on time and completed the job within 3-3 1/2 hours. They were very professional and courteous. They asked a few questions along the way during the installation process to ensure they laid the runner to our satisfaction. The total price including new runner and labor was very fair. Communications with the office were frequent and clear regarding order status, installation date, etc. We are very pleased and highly recommend this company."

"Received recommendations for Carpet Resource from a number of friends, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Our job was a lot of work including moving 4 bedrooms full of furniture. The carpet looks great and the price was reasonable for the quality of material and the amount of work. The installers were good at what they did and nice guys. I would definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to friends. <br />"

"This company did an excellent job. They were especially careful as they tore out the old kitchen floor and installed a new ceramic tile floor. They were very attentive to detail throughout the entire job. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the installers and the final ceramic tile floor. I would recommend them to anyone."

"We were very pleased with the service, both at the store as we selected the tiles, and with the installation. A subcontractor did the install, but the individual who estimated and the installers who did the work were very professional and easy to have around the house. The floor is beautiful, and the work they put into the whole process really shows. We did have a miscommunication at the outset when the installation crew didn't know that we wanted the old vinyl floor and subfloor removed, but that was resolved with a minor adjustment in cost, and the crew worked the extra day of labor into their schedule and finished on time. The installers also seem to have done a very nice job of taking care of some ugly squeaks and non-level places in the floor. The price was very fair for the work and the product, but I wouldn't call it a bargain. <br />"

"Having gotten what I considered a high estimate from a large home-improvement store, I located Joe Milner Carpets on Angie's List.  It took a while for Joe to get back to me, but once he did, he showed up to measure, show samples, and estimate the job.  He was informal, which suited me for a job this size.  His two workers showed up as agreed the next week and were done with the whole job in a morning.  Carpet looks nice and we have no complaints.  His price was very reasonable compared with the large chain. <br />"

"I called Corgan’s because we needed carpet cleaning as well as carpet stretching. When I spoke with Scott he indicated he would move the furniture, relieving us of that task, which was a huge advantage because we have several heavy pieces of furniture. Scott Corgan is the owner and does all the work himself. He stretched and cleaned six rooms of carpet in one day. Over the years I have used the top carpet cleaners in my area. I am a perfectionist, and must say Scott did a phenomenal job stretching and cleaning our carpet, much better than any other company I have used. His pricing is quite reasonable. I asked him if he did Scotchguarding, which he does, and he quoted a very reasonable price, so I added that service. There wasn’t any upselling of services that is typical of other carpet cleaners. I have already recommended Scott to my sister and several friends in need of carpet cleaning and stretching services. He is the best!"

"The sales person was an older gentleman who was quite knowledgeable and  had been in the carpet industry for 35-40 years. We felt comfortable talking to him about various types and colors of carpets. He came out to the house and measured. What I was really impressed with was that after it was installed he was very close with his measurements. We didn't pay for carpet that we didn't use. The installation was very efficient. It was done when they said it would be done. We were really happy with the service. He had good communication and was very accommodating. The guys he had do it were very efficient and got the job done."

"We interacted with several members of the Kelly Flooring business in our purchase and all were very helpful and great to work with.  Our order was placed and arrived in a timely manner and install was scheduled without delay.  We liked the fact that the installers worked directly for Kelly Flooring instead of contracting out, so if there had been an issue (there wasn't) we would be able to work with only one company.  The installers showed up on time both days and worked VERY hard to get the work done and did an exceptional job.  We had them move furniture and everything was put back in exactly the correct place and they cleaned up well after themselves before leaving. <br />"

FAQs for carpet installation projects in House Springs, MO

Carpet rolls come in standard widths of 12 and 15 feet. Less commonly, you might find a roll 13.5 feet wide. There are no standard roll lengths, but they’ll have enough to cover almost any home.

You’ll need equal amounts of carpet padding and carpet. Carpet padding costs $200 to $500 for the average room. However, the padding is trimmed a couple of inches away from the wall on all sides to make room for tack strips. Most residential installs have padding, and professionals include this in their bids.

Often, the best carpet for basements doesn’t include a pad. You’ll find this mainly in humid areas or places with a high-water table.

One linear foot of carpet or other material is simply one foot measured in a straight line. You typically aren’t going to measure carpet this way. It’s quoted in square feet or square yards.

There are nine square feet in one square yard of carpet.

The amount of carpet you need to cover two rooms varies depending on the room size and configuration. Measure the floor space. Multiply width times length. Do this for both rooms and add the numbers together.

You’ll need between 80 and 110 square feet for 13 stairs. For unique stairwells, you might need more.

Measure indoor/outdoor carpet like you would any other area, taking the width times the length. For patios, make sure to add a couple extra inches to wrap around the edges. Indoor-outdoor carpets cost an average of $3.50 per square foot.

You’ll need enough carpet to cover the entire area of damage to avoid seams. For example, if you have a 4-inch tear in the middle of a hallway, you’ll want enough carpet to stretch from door to door or the next available seam. Depending on the type of carpet you have, you might be able to get a professional to do an invisible seam repair.

One square foot of carpet is one foot long by one foot wide.
